Compliance Advisory and Stewardship CoE(centres of excellence) supports the Central Compliance & Advisory Services on a Global level. Within Compliance advisory and stewardship centres of excellence, US Compliance Advisory & Stewardship cy (USCAS) team supports different functions of US Compliance, covering Risk Strategy (including stewardship activities), Policy & Procedure Governance, Governance & Reporting, Compliance Analytics, Risk Steward Activities for few Regulatory driven and other ares.

The Opportunity:

The incumbent will report to AVP and will The Role of the Manager of Risk Stewardship Team includes but is not limited to the following:

- The job holder will not be subject to close supervision and will be expected to exercise independent initiative and judgment to proactively overcome obstacles to successful outcomes, dealing with uncertainty and changing circumstances, such as interdependencies, opportunities or risks.

- The job holder will be expected to a flexible approach to work and an outstanding level of professionalism and conduct.

- interact with the Incountry Lead on regular basis to ensure successful attainment of the objectives including enhancing the efficiency of the process.

What you'll do:

Impact on the Business/Function

- Monitor the activity requests from Covered Employees per the CFTC rule(s)

- Updating and maintaining the insider list in accordance to 'Dodd Frank Act Section 615'

- Identify the late reviews of the WPB accounts per the Annual review policy

- Summarize credit extensions for HBUS Executive Officers, Directors and their related interests

- Monitoring the AskCompliance dashboard to ensure that the query is resolved within the agreed TAT

- Timely & Accurate action of the covered Employees

- Timely & Accurate updation of list

- Ensure relevance of data and regular review

- Ensuring delivery of ad-hoc reports and requests from stakeholders if any

- Ensure compliance to the Governance Framework and Group standards and policies

- Timely and accurate quality checks

Customers / Stakeholders

- Help identify and share best practice in a Compliance space

- Cultivate a positive and collaborative working environment with the Compliance function

- Build and maintain close working relationship with partners in Regulatory Compliance or elsewhere and should be able to work and co-ordinate with remote sites

- Communicate effectively to different audiences, including both Regulatory Compliance and any other internal customers

- Develop and maintain a current knowledge of internal and external Data Governance initiatives and best practices. Develop general awareness of Compliance Regulatory changes affecting the function

- Pro-actively assist management in identifying and containing compliance risk, monitoring, reporting and fostering a positive Compliance culture

- Feedback from internal and external stakeholders

- Regular contact with key stakeholders, providing reports within agreed timescales. Track issues through to conclusion

- Provision of reports to management on significant issues in a concise and timely manner, where applicable

- Close working relationship maintained with the Compliance function, Regulatory Compliance and any other internal customers

Leadership & Teamwork

- Ability to act proactively and multitask

- Desire to pass on skills for the good of the team and learn from the other team members

- Actively participate in team meetings and bring solutions/suggestions/recommendations to the table

- Be able to integrate into an existing close team

- Effective contribution in team meetings and business calls

- Be open to feedback and highlight areas of improvement

Operational Effectiveness & Control

- Maintain internal control standards, continually assessing operational risks inherent in the processes, taking account of changing operating procedures, staff movements, legal and regulatory requirements, management restructures, and the impact of new technology.

- Ensure understanding of Group FIMs, Group Audit / Internal Control Review / Compliance reports; foster a compliance culture

- Actively contributes to RCA process and in both anticipating and mitigating potential risks

- Clear evidence that the team understands the respective operational controls and standards to contain compliance risk

- Any significant compliance issues reported appropriately and in a timely manner

- Identify process improvements. Discuss these with the Business Partner for implementation

- Identify best practices across various geographies and effectively disseminate these to others

Major challenges (The challenges inherent in the role that require a continual test of the role holders' abilities)

- Balancing new requirements with existing technical capabilities to ensure stakeholder expectations are managed

- Manual review of the policies/ procedures

Role Context (The environment and operating conditions of the role including the extent of guidance and authority)

- Jobholder will be required to work closely with the US policy & procedure governance team BAU functions are carried out accordingly within the stipulated Performance Level Agreement (PLA)

- The jobholder will also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators (if any)

Management of Risk (Operational Risk / FIM requirements):

- Be aware of the Operational risk and act in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations.

- Proactively alert the Line Manager of highest perceived risks as they arise

Role Dimensions (e.g. balance sheet size, lending/expenditure limits, size/volume of transactions, budget):

- Reviewing and assigning Regulatory Development alerts generated by the RAPid system to the respective regional reviewers.

What additional skills will be good to have?

Essential:

- Minimum 5-7 years' experience in roles within a Risk / Compliance / Regulatory framework

- Good command of both verbal and written English

- Ability to understand and interpret Regulations

- Attention to details and good analytical skills.

- Strong interpersonal skills and able to build and maintain relationships

- Utilizes own initiative to resolve issues. Ability to support decisions with sound reasoning.

- Experience and Understanding of US regulatory structure is an added advantage.

Highly Desirable:

- Understanding of the different Lines and sub-Lines of Business.

- Knowledge of Banking and Financial Markets and Risk and Compliance.

Advantageous:

- Experience in a role involving understanding systems and suggesting enhancements.

- Good Knowledge of MS Office.
