The role of Business Development Manager is an important role for the growth of the company. There is considerable potential to grow our business in the architectural sales segment. This growth will come both from product portfolio expansion and from developing our networks in this segment. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for introducing new products to the existing portfolio and maximising sales through architects, designers, builders and contractors. Product Development - Identify and source new products that can be added to existing product portfolio. - Periodically review product portfolio to keep it relevant to the needs of the market. - Maintain and analyse sales data to identify slow moving, fast moving and dead inventory. - Devise appropriate strategies to liquidate dead stocks, if any, and replace with high margin, fast moving products. Business Development - Develop business plan and overall strategy for multiple product lines that ensures the achievement of the company's sales goals and profitability. - Devise and execute action plans and priority matrix to penetrate selected accounts; set short and long-term sales strategy and goals. - Propose appropriate design solutions and product selections to clients for their projects. - Prospect for new business; keep abreast of new construction/refurbishment projects. - Build a solid sales pipeline to ensure consistent generation of sales volumes. - Participate in bids; complete and submit all bid documents timely and accurately. - Host events and participate in local industry trade fairs to enhance brand presence. Customer Relationship Management - Build relationships with designers, architects, builders, and contractors who have the ability to specify and influence sales of Emel products. - Manage existing relationships and ensure continued customer satisfaction and retention. - Provide timely and accurate technical information for product specifications to customers. - Follow up to make sure that product information as provided is sufficient and specifications are in our favour during the bid process. Other Responsibilities - Maintain accurate records of all pricing, sales, competition and own activity. - Provide timely and accurate feedback to senior management regarding each account's sales performance, challenges and opportunities. - Control all expenses to stay within budget guidelines. - Work with HR and Legal to develop sales contracts, ensuring that our business interests are always safeguarded. - Coordinate with Logistics and Supply Chain teams to ensure timely deliveries to customers.
