Job Description for Manager - Big Data Analytics

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

- Will be responsible for guiding the full lifecycle of a big data solution, including requirements analysis, platform selection, technical architecture design, application design and development, testing, and deployment

- Work with Client and their teams on designing, building and deploying data analysis systems for large data sets and for model development, model validation, model Implementation

- Use integrated data to develop business performance metrics and KPI’s and create performance dashboards that can be used to drive business decisions

- Identify emergent trends and opportunities for future client growth and development

- Collaborate with external partners such as agencies and vendors to assist with data collection and reporting

- Exhibit a high level of expertise in driving the data strategy across multiple customer channels (Social Media, Websites, surveys, testing, CRM systems, market research etc).

- Ability to support business development activities to shape and communicate proposed solutions to client executives and architects

- Perform root cause analysis of performance issues and drive their resolution by partnering with cross-functional teams and track the success of corrective actions taken to resolve issues

- Present analytic findings & opportunities to improve product performance to senior management and summarize key findings, and aid in the dissemination of metrics throughout the organization

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Must Have:

- Strong technical and analytic skills to translate complex big data into actionable insights

- Proficiency in Big Data tools/suite likeHadoop, Greenplumetc.

- Hands on experience with ETL tools like Informatica, Ab-Initio, Talend, Pentaho and etc

- Thorough understanding of financial services industry, with background in either Banking or Insurance a must

- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of end users and technical resources

- Exposure to project management skills, business process redesign principles, tools and techniques a plus

- Knowledge / proficiency in Advance Statistics and analytical techniques -log analysis, sentiment analysis, fraud detection andsensory data analysis

- Knowledge/Proficiency with some of the following tools: MicroStrategy. Brio, Business Objects, Cognos, etc

- Superior MS Excel, MS Access and MS PowerPoint skills

- Experience in resolving complex data issues in creative and effective ways. High self-motivation for success in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

- Three to five years of business analysis experience in large size companies(Financial Services preferred) with multiple functions / business units preferred

- Graduate/Post-Graduate in a quantitative field (engineering/economics/statistics) or Management

Desirable:

- Knowledge/Proficiency with BI and Visualization tools: MicroStrategy, Brio, Business Objects, Cognos, Tableau, Qlickview

- Knowledge of statistical analysis and tools (SAS, SPSS, R, Mahout)

- Previous experience with high-scale or distributed RDBMS (Teradata, Netezza, Greenplum, Aster Data, Vertica)
