Job Description :

- The role holder must conduct credit reviews of identified higher risk counter parties within the Asia Pacific / US / UK region, make suitable recommendations for further action to protect the Bank's lending position and minimize potential credit losses. The following are the broad responsibilities:-

- Analyze potential problem of counter parties, make proper credit judgements, suggest methods to improve lending position and ensure that risks are thoroughly assessed by lending executives. This will involve development of appropriate strategies in collaboration with Team Heads / SVPs in Global Banking & Markets / Commercial Banking and clear and transparent communication with Offshore Wholesale & Market Risk / CRRI colleagues.

- Assist in managing and monitoring developments of lower risk problematic accounts

- Provide portfolio MI / industry analysis and lead event-triggered risk management projects as specified by senior management.

- Maintain effective working relationships with Relationship Managers and Lending Executives by delivering value added service and establish rapport and credibility.

- Implement operating procedures in line with the policy and procedures determined by CRRI and ensure strict adherence to the Group compliance and operational risk controls and regulatory standards, policies and practices; report control weaknesses, compliance breaches and operational loss events.

- Ensure quality of work, adherence to workflow TATs and submission of MIS

- Drive / assist recruitment, training and mentoring of the Asia Pacific Risk Identification team

- Drive a high performance culture with high engagement levels and ensure business continuity and stability

- Participate in the Offshore Wholesale & Market Risk & local GSC management activities

Skills/Experience Required :

- Graduate degree in commerce/ economics/ management/ engineering. Preference will be given to candidates holding MBA-Finance or equivalent/ CA/ ICWA/ CS/ CAIIB.

- Corporate / SME Credit involving commercial credit risk, lending or credit analysis, loan review, loan workout, NPA management, etc., in a reputed Bank/ Financial Institution.

- In-depth understanding of accounting, financial analysis, credit products i.e. all fund & non fund based credit products viz. - term loans, OD/CC, LC/BG, bill discounting, factoring, forex loans.

- Good knowledge of International Trade Financing, treasury / derivative products will be an added advantage.

- Sound knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

- Strong analytical skills with ability to quickly interpret data & facts to arrive at meaningful conclusions and assess the business / financial prospects of the borrowers

- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and in teams, excellent communication, strong negotiation & persuasive skills

- Ability to assimilate a large amount of information and make effective judgmental decisions on a wide range of issues

- A strong desire to achieve outstanding customer service, show attention to detail and committed to producing work of the highest quality.

- Resilience under pressure and able to work efficiently in order to meet aggressive deadlines.

Additional Information /Specific Skills (If Any) :

- The complexity of analysis and decision making requirement for the job holder is high in view of the diversified nature of the Asia Pacific portfolio. Broad industry / market knowledge, strong analytical thinking and sound credit judgement / evaluation skills are necessary for a thorough assessment of potential problem accounts.

- A high level of problem solving skills and commercial orientation are required to provide guidance while devising strategies for these troubled relationships.

- The jobholder is expected to exercise discretion in carrying out duties and be accountable for his/her judgement which will have an impact upon the Bank's bottom line.

- The job holder must be ready to work independently in a somewhat unstructured environment, but be capable of providing positive leadership, support and guidance.
