About the Opportunity:


Role: Market Development Manager

Department: B2B (myPartner)

Location: Gurgaon

About the Function:

myPartner is a new Strategic business unit of MakeMyTrip group launched in 2020 which aims to provide seamless, reliable, real-time inventory and price of different travel products such as domestic and international hotels, flights and holiday packages to travel agent partners across the country. In a short span the business has scaled up to have more than 28k travel agent partners active on its platform. Being a new business, we are continuously building innovative solutions to meet the dynamic needs of the travel agent partners and to help them grow their travel business.

About the Role:

- The role would require the incumbent to build up myPartner brand in the mapped market ensuring maximum spread and depth. He/she will need to Identify and on board potential travel agents and ensure platform adoption by onboarded travel agents. Role would also include building up business partnerships to gain wallet/market share, ensure market growth in terms of active travel agent partners, overall transactions and value.

- Keep a close watch on competition and its activities in the market and handle the Business managers in a way that ultimately adds on to overall business growth.

What will you be doing:

- Act as a 'business owner' by driving top of the funnel, adoption and conversion across specific cohorts pan India.

- Define and drive strategic growth plan for the Travel Agents cohorts across the country with end-to-end execution of the same

- Be the custodian of Market Intelligence, identify market opportunities and work towards strong Go -to- Market strategy, competition analysis and market dynamics to gain share quarter on quarter

- Work closely with Product, Revenue & Category and Marketing teams to formulate strategies that help in growing top line and effectively implement the same. Build an environment of consistent learning to deliver strong capability of business managers and deliver superlative performance

- Drive platform and technology adoption across partners through extensive training and monitoring

- Monitor and achieve daily / monthly / quarterly numbers on various metrics. Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement

- Maintain strong professional relationship with partners across the country

- Influence business and industry practices by driving innovative ideas, solutions and products

What are you required to bring to the team:

- Self-motivated individual with a passion to own up the market

- Strong understanding of Sales / BD, market/domain knowledge to implement strategic and targeted action plans to achieve goals

- Passion to build, nurture and scale up relationships with travel partners

- Strong communication, problem solving and stakeholder management skills

- Analytical bent of mind and expertise in Microsoft Excel & Microsoft PowerPoint

- Open to travel extensively

Qualification & Experience:

- MBA from reputed institutes with 8-15 years of experience in Internet domain in sales/ B2B sales/ B2C sales/ Key Account Management/ Business Development

- Strong business leader with a hands-on approach

- Should have an experience of leading a market team of at least 8-10 business manager both in location and remote

- Having a strong analytical bent of mind. Good with numbers and data interpretation

- Bias for action. Ability to swiftly rally the team around small and long business priorities

- Strong watch over competition and market dynamics
