magenta - Business Editor

magenta is a fresh thinking creative agency based in Khar West, Mumbai. It provides strategic brand and corporate communications support to companies growing in and from India and to inbound investors.

magenta is recruiting a business editor.

The successful candidate will be an experienced business journalist, perhaps having worked on trade or in-house publications. S/he will write news, features and other corporate business content such as white papers for a range of publications and audiences. S/he will have first-hand experience of interviewing and writing news copy and features. Good business English, with excellent grammar and spelling are a pre-requisite. S/he will actively develop story ideas and pitch these internally and to clients.

The successful candidate will further be required to research and draft - thought leadership- content in collaboration with clients- subject matter experts as well as edit supplied content to house style and against quality check lists. S/he will manage repurposing content for other media including web, info graphics and slide share.

This is a client-facing role and there is an expectation to manage client relationships in conjunction with other team members. The post holder will have on-going contact with the client to develop ideas and progress projects. S/he will also work with the internal design resource to review page proofs before they are sent externally.

magenta is a small agency; the person appointed is expected to be flexible in taking on additional responsibility as required.
