Purpose of the role :
- Responsible for accomplishing sales targets and increasing sales expertise to optimize team results, whilst driving upper quartile engagement results.

Key elements of the role :
- Provides leadership to the Retail vertical sales team across South Asia
- Solves complex client challenges based on accurate identification of underlying factors/causes and is aware of the impact of proposed solutions outside their own immediate area
- Contributes to wider decision making including the development of practices, processes and procedures
- Coaching and mentoring to build organizational capability and talent
- Manage team engagement
- Actively lead best practice sharing and develop the necessary skills and knowledge to perform at a higher-level
- Collaborate pro-actively with other departments in Maersk to deliver exceptional customer experience
- Adopt company culture and act as a role model for others
- Delivery as per Area budget:
- Lead and set direction for the Retail sales team according to sales targets across ocean and logistics services
- Coach and increase sales capabilities within the Retail sales team
- Position Maersk for access to the right stakeholders, influencers and decision makers throughout the customer organization. Build trusting relationships with senior client stakeholders
- Support team members with opening and winning opportunities
- Define and set targets for sales
Responsible for overall Customer Satisfaction:
- Organize, connect and collaborate with Maersk teams across functions, products and areas for overall customer experience
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers in the Retail & Lifestyle portfolio
Who we are looking for :
- A Bachelor's degree with at least 10 years' work experience in a commercial role within the logistics, shipping or freight forwarding industries
- Breadth of managerial expertise to engage and develop people
- Proven ability to understand customer needs and offer mutually beneficial solutions
- Retail Supply chain expertise (to optimize Maersk share across products), insight selling, connectors (stakeholder management, influencing skills)
- Negotiation skills/procurement tactics
- High-level product understanding including how to solve different customer pain points
- Strategic partnering, financial acumen, matrix management, value co-creator, presentation skills
- Fluency in English
