Maersk - Manager - Procurement

Roles and Responsibilities :

- The role will involve developing and executing the Area Contract and Cold Chain Logistics procurement pipeline in strategic alignment with the area business plans. This role will require you to be a business partner to site managers, product and commercial teams in delivering optimized costs through cost-effective, compliant and quality procurement solutions. This role will be a key player in supporting the IBS Area growth for Contract Logistics products within L&S product portfolio and will play a significant role in the wider cost optimization agenda of the WCA region. The role will be positioned in Mumbai, India and reporting to the Area Procurement Manager (L&S) for IBS based in Mumbai, India.

- Experience in Warehousing and Distribution, Cold Chain Storage and Logistics, Supply chain management, Logistics or shipping operations and procurement is a necessity when applying and combined with awareness of cost drivers will be highly valued in the selection process. It is necessary to possess experience in project management and it is expected that the candidate in previous roles have acted as project leader for cross-functional projects. The individual we are looking for must have strong communication skills, firm executive presence, and possess an ability to manage a large number of stakeholders at different levels of seniority, both within and outside the Maersk organization.

Desired Candidate Profile :

- A Degree in a Business/Supply Chain Management or a related field

- At least 5 years of procurement experience in Contract Logistics, Supply chain management

- Strong industry network and sound market and product understanding

- A commercial mindset with fair understanding of handling PnL

- Experience in Inland transportation, Customs house brokerage would be an added advantage

- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

- Superb communication and interpersonal skills

- Composure when confronted with sudden setbacks

- A knack for negotiation

- Willingness to operate in a fast paced environment

- Ability to make quick decisions with 80% information

- Thirst for knowledge and the ability to learn quickly
