Maersk Line - Senior Advisor - Business Analytics

Key responsibilities :

- Leads a team of Business Analysts and ensure value to business

- Analyses and improves existing dashboards, reports and reporting systems to generate insights

- Contributes to Analytical activities including data mining, insight generation using statistical analysis using appropriate techniques or / and technologies.

- Collaborates, communicates, and educates team to improve general understanding of analytical and prediction models

- Structure work, frame issues, and produce analyses that answer complex business questions in a pragmatic approach

- Develop a detailed data understanding of the data in order to evaluate data sets for internal consistency and integrity

- Be able to navigate data sources from converting raw data into meaningful and actionable insights to gathering qualitative information from stakeholders

- Make intelligent tradeoffs between information available and provide innovative solutions even in situations where all the desired data may or may not be available

- Attentive to detail and accuracy, is committed to excellence, looks for improvements continuously, monitors quality levels, finds root cause of quality problems, owns/acts on quality problems

- Responsible for developing and communicating business requirements to Business Intelligence team in order to operationalize and automate recurring analyses

- Demonstrates Leadership skills including communicates authentically, strong business acumen, ability to execute strategic vision, takes accountability for driving excellent results, manages change and ambiguity

- Ability to manage large, complex projects with multiple deliverables simultaneously

Desired Skills and Experience :

- Masters in statistics, mathematics, engineering, economics, computer science, or equivalent combination of education and related experience required

- Understanding of Data Mining Technologies - Excel, SQL, R etc.

- Overall 9+ Years experience with at least four years of experience in analytics

- Moderate to advanced skill in data manipulation and analysis using R / Excel

- Superior problem-solving skills, self-motivation and the capacity to work under pressure and tight deadlines

- Effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively in a team environment

- Excellent verbal, written communication, and data presentation skills

- Experience in lean or six sigma considered a plus
