Maersk Line - Manager - Special Cargo - West & Central Asia

- The India and Bangladesh Trade and Marketing team is dedicated to maximizing Maersk Lines profitability. Trade Managers work very closely with colleagues in cluster sales, customer service, finance also Copenhagen HQ, Liner Operations Centres and destination clusters.

- As part of India & Bangladesh TNM, we also host the WCA Special Cargo team, with scope for In Gauge, Out of Gauge and Break Bulk cargo. The scope of this role will initially be special cargo trade for India cluster.

- The Special Cargo Manager is responsible for setting MLs direction and growth objectives for the assigned trades. We operate at both a medium term and short term executional level to translate the overall trade strategy from Copenhagen HQ and drive trade components in the Cluster Market Plan and Cluster Action plan.

- The Trade Manager uses levers such as corridor and cargo mixing, contracting strategies and pricing intelligence, and will use standard processes and tools per the Maersk Line operating system.

Key Responsibilities :

- The Manager Special Cargo will be responsible for the optimal regional performance of Special Cargo within WCA. The key responsibilities include:

- Direction setting for assigned trades.

- Market intelligence and trade analysis.

- Setup Maersk Lines approach in West Central Asia to grow profitably, within our overall trade strategy.

- Work with Centre teams, primarily CEN Special Cargo team, to determine our pricing position, longer term contract plans, target markets, key growth cargo and customer segments.

- Communication on your assessment of the market and your chosen line of action.

- Cost analysis, commercial quotations & rate negotiations.

- Target setting and performance management with clusters on delivery of SPC numbers.

- Running MLOS to current standard.

- Product feedback and development input to Centre.

- Own SPC related campaigns for the region.

- Participate in SPC/BBK conferences and networking groups.

- Coordinating with Terminal, LOC, vessel stowage planners, local operations for OOG/BBK cargo acceptance. Control special equipment flow for the region.

- Ensure alignment with the operations teams on contingency actions, clear communication and information to sales and customer service etc.
