Manager (Operations & Inland Product Development), East India Posting Title : Manager (Operations & Inland Product Development), East India Appetizer : Maersk Line India is looking for an Operations professional to lead the Operations & Inland Product development team in East India. You will also further learn and understand the core components of Inland Operations along-with: - Terminal operations and Cost drivers. - Total Cost of ownership principles. - An opportunity to liaison with internal and external stake holders, manage cost and encourage innovative ways of working for enhancing efficiency. Key Responsibilities : - Assist the commercial desks to achieve the volume aspirations for East India by providing adequate support on intermodal, L&S and equipment front. - Coordination with Marine, Cargo and Capacity teams in Liner Operations Clusters to ensure smooth operations avoiding extra costs in the terminals of Kolkata, Haldia and Vizag. - Design inland network, create and execute products operationally to support the inland and L&S commercial strategy. - Assisting the commercial desks in promoting inland and L&S solutions as a lever to grow revenue. - Drive cost leadership for all the services procured in the region in co-ordination with Procurement teams. - Ensure that the joint cost savings plans for the region is achieved. - Manage the vendors in the region to ensure service delivery as per the agreed parameters. - Ensure that the equipment turnaround is optimized with close focus on longstanding equipment. - Drive inland profitability for the region by fixing up of inland haulages for both imports and exports in coordination with concerned desks. - Manage intermodal contingencies in coordination with vendors. - Continuously seek for opportunities to optimize inland and L&S operations set up and recommend improvements. - Conduct in-depth analysis to identify and establish opportunities for cost reduction with focus on improving operational efficiency and reducing costs. - Handle transactional cost control, ensure and push for full compliance to the guiding principles and excellence in accuracy, in co-operation and co-ordination with concerned parties including Global Shared Service Centre. - Improve the process to support future needs for inland operations. - Drive L&S initiatives for the region and ensure strong set-up to deliver L&S smoothly We are looking for : - Master's degree holder. - Minimum 08 years of experience in container business within the Liner Operations. - Solid analytical skills and a strong sense of detail, plus the ability to use both in a very complex environment and on a significant cost base. - Sense of urgency, result oriented and with an ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. - Ability to gain respect and confidence from internal and external stakeholders; and use this to advocate the priorities in business and thereby drive improvements. - Strong competency to understand commercial drivers and therewith transforming operational and/or technical aspects of the business to customer value.
