Maersk - Cluster Procurement Manager

Opportunity:

You will be part the APM Terminals Regional Procurement team based out of our office in Vikhroli. You will be responsible for leading procurement teams for 2 terminals in India (Gateway Terminals India Pvt. Ltd & Gujarat Pipavav Port Ltd.)

.The role offers an opportunity to be an integral part of the terminal management team and lead procurement teams for two terminals and the opportunity to manage a very large spend base through a mix of local and global suppliers. The position also offers significant internal and external stakeholder management opportunity as well as an opportunity to engage with a broad international network. You will have a strong global procurement team behind you helping with project management, system implementation, market analysis and tendering as well as category managers who lead projects within selected spend categories. You will be expected to work in close collaboration with these global teams based in different parts of the world.

Key responsibilities:

As a Cluster Procurement Manager, the procurement teams at both the terminals will report to you and your main responsibilities will be to lead the teams to execute the core day-to-day procurement activities at the terminals including but not limited to

- Creating and managing all supply and service contracts

- preparing for and performing negotiations

- addressing adhoc purchase requests

- Supplier management

- e-catalog management

- Driving digital procurement

- Analyzing spend to identify opportunities and drive savings

The procurement team is responsible for creating annual procurement plans for the terminal and steering the cost agenda in the right direction to execute those plans. The cluster procurement manager will be accountable for delivering on these plans and ensuring that all procurement activities at the terminals is performed in accordance with local and global procurement standards and processes. You will be required to travel to the terminals from time to time on need basis.

The cluster procurement manager will be an active part of the terminal management team as a functional expert who delivers on the following:

- Co-owning the cost agenda including leveraging global functional competencies & strategies

- Cost base visibility and management

- Business continuity / risk mgmt. from supply side

- Innovation with supply base

- De-carbonization of terminal operations

- Data availability for fact-based decision making

- Transparent, efficient, and admin reduced supply chain

We are looking for :

- 10 years of relevant track record in procurement, supply chain management, project management and experience in leading teams

- A Bachelors or master's degree in Engineering, logistics, supply chain management is preferred

- A good understanding of processes within purchasing and contracting

- A good understanding of the R2P process

- Accomplished people leadership skills, project management skills, negotiation skills

- Experience with sustainable procurement & decarbonization projects

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and competent presentation skills

- Ability to communicate effectively across geographical and cultural boundaries & to navigate in large matrix organizations

- Ability to manage internal & external stakeholders efficiently

- Willingness to travel to terminal/supplier locations globally based on business requirements
