Financial Controller
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Oversee the general ledger accounting process, ensuring accurate recording of transactions and proper account reconciliations.
- Review and interpret financial data to provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Develop annual budgets and financial forecasts in collaboration with department heads and senior management.
- Monitor budget performance, identify variances, and provide analysis to support decision-making.
- Implement strategies to optimize financial performance and achieve budgetary goals.
Cash Flow Management:
- Manage cash flow projections and ensure adequate liquidity to meet operational needs.
- Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable processes to optimize cash flow efficiency.
- Implement controls and procedures to mitigate cash flow risks and improve working capital management.
Compliance and Internal Controls:
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies, including tax filings, financial reporting, and audit requirements.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Coordinate external audits and facilitate the resolution of audit findings and recommendations.
Financial Analysis and Decision Support:
- Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, investment evaluations, and business initiatives.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to drive profitability and growth.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and revenue enhancement.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the finance team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and collaboration on financial objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's / Masters degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and financial management roles, with a focus on QuickBooks and bookkeeping.
- Thorough knowledge of American accounting standards (GAAP) and proficiency in financial reporting requirements.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven leadership abilities with experience in managing and developing a team.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
