We have a suitable opportunity in the Corporate division for the position of Assistant Manager - Direct Tax. In this individual contributor role, you will be responsible for supporting direct tax compliances, reporting and litigation. You must have 2+ years of professional experience in Direct Tax function of Global MNC or Top Chartered Accountant firms. The location of the job will be in Mumbai. Key Responsibilities: Tax Compliances & Reporting: - Calculations of Current Tax, Deferred Tax, Effective Tax Rate Reconciliations, Tax Questionnaires, Contingent Liability, Fluctuation analysis on quarterly basis - Responsible for preparation and submission of Tax audits - Preparation and submission of Annual Income Tax and Transfer Pricing declarations - Preparation of Quarterly Advance Tax Computations - Withholding tax (TDS) compliances for domestic and international transactions - Responsible for changes in Tax reporting tools, reports in SAP and Business Warehouse tools facilitating data collation for tax compliance, reporting and litigation - Responsible for monitoring tax expense and tax accounts balances in the financial statements - Responsible for Physical and Digital Tax Records Management - Support in Annual Transfer Pricing documentation - Support in finalization of Related Party Disclosures for Statutory Accounts Tax Litigation: - Representation before Income Tax Assessment & Appellate Authorities - Drafting of submissions and collating details for Income tax (including Transfer Pricing) proceedings - Preparing submission, defense files, notes and documentation in support of present and upcoming assessments - Maintaining updated status of the pending litigations and accounting the implications of tax orders on ongoing basis Key Deliverables: - Correct and Timely Tax Compliances - Timely Response to Internal and External Stakeholders Key Competencies: - Strong understanding of Income Tax Regulations, Tax Treaties, OECD guidelines, etc. - Good Understanding of Financial statements - Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office, SAP and tax compliance software - Efficient Tax documentation Management skills - Highly effective communication, co-ordination and follow-up skills - Strong business analytical, numerical, operational and execution skills Key Relationships: - Internal Interactions - Accounts, Controlling, Marketing, Operations, etc. - External Interactions - Tax Authorities, Tax Consultants, Lawyers, Auditors, etc. Physical Demands (e.g. % travel): - Travel will be need based Education: - Chartered Accountant and Bachelor's degree in commerce with 2+ years strong technical experience in Income Tax L'Oreal is committed to building a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
