Backstory:

- Locus' journey is quite an interesting story.

- What began as a women's safety application is now a global last-mile logistics optimization platform.

- Back in 2015, Nishith Rastogi and Geet Garg developed RideShare, a geo-tracking application to improve women's safety in cabs by tracking deviations from predefined routes.

- They soon noticed it was adopted by many new-age food delivery companies to manage their delivery personnel.

- After some research, they identified a significant opportunity to automate and improve decision-making in last-mile logistics.

- And in July 2015, Locus was born in a 2 BHK studio apartment in Bangalore.

Job Description:

- As the Finance Controller at Locus, you will oversee and manage the organization's financial control, bookkeeping and reporting functions.

- You will play a crucial role in ensuring financial operations' accuracy, integrity, and compliance while providing strategic financial guidance to senior management.

- This position requires a strong finance, accounting, and controllership background and excellent leadership and communication skills.

Location: Bangalore

Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting and Compliance:

- Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements,Management of Accounting end-to-end processes, Balance Sheet reconciliation & month close process globally

- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, policies, and procedures.

- Monitor changes in accounting regulations and ensure implementation of necessary adjustments.

- Process Reengineering to eliminate bottlenecks &advocate cost savings

- Manage intercompany reporting and consolidation under IFRs & US GAAP.

Financial Controls and Bookkeeping:

- Establish and maintain effective financial control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets.

- Oversee internal control activities, including risk assessment, identification of control gaps, and implementation of remedial actions.

- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with internal controls and recommend process improvements.

- Manage the book keeping and AR/ AP team

Budgeting and Forecasting:

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop annual budgets and periodic forecasts.

- Monitor financial performance against budgeted targets, analyze variances, and provide actionable recommendations to achieve financial objectives.

- Process Reengineering to eliminate bottlenecks &advocate cost savings

Team Leadership:

- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the finance controllership team including AP/ AR team.

- Foster a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and high-performance within the team.

Stakeholder Management:

- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior management, department heads, and external auditors to address financial concerns, provide insights, and ensure alignment with business goals.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Bachelor's/PG degree in Finance, Accounting with CA

- Proven experience (8+ years) in finance controllership roles, with progressive leadership responsibilities,

- Proven experience working in a dynamic fast paced Series C/ Series B Startup in SAAS domain

- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards ( IFRS & US GAAP) and regulatory compliance requirements.

- Experience in handling Big4 Audit and Diligence.

- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.

- Proficiency in using financial management software and advanced MS Excel skills.

- Proficiency in using ERPs like Zoho books, Quickbooks is must.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
