Loan Management Professional - Business Banking

We are looking for professionals into Loan Management Unit with Min 4 years to 10 years of relevant exp into Debt Management, Stressed assets, CDR, Debt restructuring for business banking/SME group in wholesale credit risk

The jobholder will manage a portfolio of high risk problem exposures and demonstrate added value through:

- Adoption and implementation of GLOBAL STANDARDS and LMU guidelines/procedures and processes to protect the Bank's capital by making a full assessment of all relevant risks, creating and implementing appropriate strategies, optimising facility structures and minimising impairments/maximising recoveries;

- Adoption and implementation of GLOBAL STANDARDS, values and business principles and LMU 5C (Clear, consistent, constructive, considerate and consensual) principles to protect the Bank's reputation when working with distressed customers;

- STREAMLINING of processes and procedures through a focus on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of BBLMU;

- GROW the business and dividends through financial distress resolution and maintenance of long term recurring income streams. To reflect increased risk and cost of capital ensure pricing is appropriate and correlate's with risk but is fair and not detrimental to the long term relationship with the customer or adversely impacts upon the need to protect the Bank's capital.

Principal Accountabilities : Key activities and decision making areas

Impact on the Business :

- The pro-active risk management of relationships with a cash risk of - 30k - 300k in accordance with Global Standards values and business principles

- Rehabilitation of relationships is the primary objective, but if not possible, consensual full repayment is the secondary priority

- Protection of recurring income streams by seeking to implement turnaround strategies, where a viable business is evident, and ensuring pricing is appropriate

- Minimize impairments and forecast future impairments accurately and reliably

- Minimize financial crime risk via implementation of KYC / CDD process.

- Build a varied network of panel firm advisors.

- Timely production of clear, concise and balanced reports which are to demonstrate adoption of Global Standards values and business principles

- All relationships are to have a clearly defined strategy which is to be primarily focused on rehabilitation if at all possible

- The Dealpoint Express Pricing Model is to be effectively utilised in appropriate circumstances. The rehabilitation of relationships to Business Banking is to be prioritized to support income retention and growth

- Impairments are to be predicted, raised and recovered in a timely manner

- KYC/CDD to be completed to a high standard and in a timely manner.

Customers / Stakeholders :

- Ensure the fair treatment of customers by operating and behaving in accordance with values and business principles and the LMU 5Cs (Clear, Consistent, Considerate, Constructive and Consensual) principles

- Adhere to the BBLMU Operating Guidelines and ensure all actions are compliant with The Lending Code and Business Banking Terms and Conditions.

- Consistently display the behaviors required to support a - values based- approach to risk management

- Application of a 5Cs approach to all customer interactions.

Leadership & Teamwork :

- Work as an integrated member of the BBLMU team

- Lead, inspire and motivate colleagues by proactively sharing knowledge, experiences and best practices

- Coach and provide development support to Relationship Support Associates

- Act as an ambassador for BBLMU in developing a strong relationship with key stakeholders including Business Banking/MME / Credit & Risk/CRU.

- Support the Business Banking Leadership Team in delivering a values based leadership culture evidenced through employee engagement feedback (Global People Survey)

- Provide the Business Banking Leadership Team with regular feedback on Relationship Support Associate performance and coaching

- Effective collaboration with other product partners and stakeholders.

Operational Effectiveness & Control :

- Continually reassess operational risks taking account of the changing economic, legal and regulatory environment

- Implement Group compliance policy by working in concert with the relevant compliance department

- Be able to demonstrate adherence to internal control procedures.

- Ensure effective credit and reputational risk management

- Identification of potential savings through improvements in the efficiency and effectiveness of BBLMU.

- Complete adherence to the Bank's processes and procedures through the adoption of Global Standards

- No adverse Group Audit, MCF, Operational Risk Incidents or Operational Losses.

- Production of timely and high quality credit reports

- No justified customer complaints

- Positive contributions to improving efficiency and effectiveness.
