The job will involve to supporting business needs through legal means.
Responsibility :
- To work in close tandem with business managers to forsee, solve the possible regulatory and legal issues
- To be consultant to the business while formulating strategy with a keen eye on competition and changing business environment.
- Candidate has to keep himself updated on amendments in law and guide business on impact and way forward.
- To deal government authorities independently and present company's view & safeguard its interest in industry body meetings.
- MIS, tracking of cases, up-dations and presentation on status to senior management
- Make cases for opinion, briefing senior counsels
- Be proficient in the general court procedures
Skills/Qualifications :
Knowledge of the following laws is mandatory
- Civil law - including recoveries
- Criminal law - FIRs, recovery including under 138NI Act
- Food Law - Prevention of Food Adulteration Act, labeling requirements, registrations, licenses and defending prosecutions
- Commercial and residential leases - agreements, registrations and stamp duty compliances
- Agreements - celebrity contracts, contracts with media agencies, retail chains, manufacturing agreements, dealer appointments, royalty agreements etc.
Knowledge and experience of dealing with the following laws is desirable
- IP - Registration process - Trademark, Works under Copyright Act, Industrial Designs, Patents -
- IP - Litigation - oppositions and civil cases, raids on infringers
- Drugs and Cosmetics Law - labeling requirements, BIS, licenses
- Exposure of lobbying with Government/making representations on policy matters is desirable
