Position : Legal Manager

Grade - Middle Management

Key Responsibilities :

- Prepare litigation strategy for Corporate & Retail Banking across the region.

- Handling By and Against cases of the Bank for legal matters for all the products of Banks. Defending cases filed against Bank, Drafting and vetting of written statement, Affidavits, Rejoinder,etc filed by the Bank in Against Cases,

- Initiating recovery proceedings, Filing complaints under Section 138 of NI Act, Civil Suits, DRT applications, Lok Adalat, Arbitration etc,

- Attending courts Civil, Criminal, Consumer, DRT, High Court and providing legal advice and solving legal issues of Branch Banking.

- Coordinating with external Counsels/Advocates for By and Against cases.

- Laisioning with Police station for summons and warrants issued against Bank.

- Addressing queries of branches in all legal matters & providing solutions to the same.

- Attend Labour issues of employees, security agencies, other out sourcing agencies.

- Generating circulars over various amendments in law.

- Advise on all aspects of corporate and financial laws and practice.

- Advise on product development, strategy, policies and processes.

- Filing criminal complaints, Recovery suits, against defaulted customers, Fraud prevention.

- Reference from group companies, Drafting and reviewing Process/Policy notes for various business groups.

- MIS reporting to senior management, Respond to legal notices and customer complaints.

- Critically analyze legislative efforts and offer recommendations.

- Advise various business groups on legal issues pertaining to Branch Banking, Corporate Banking, and Retail Banking etc.

- Initiating SARFEASI cases for loan recovery.

- Identifying core issues that affect the Bank and generate solution by research and analysis.

- Monitoring recovery team and provide advice for effective recovery.

- Mentoring and advising fraud prevention team.

- Drafting and vetting of contracts and agreements relating to various financial services offered to customers.

Requirement-

Experience of Litigation or Debt Recovery Tribunal (DRT) is Mandatory
