Legal Collections Manager - Corporate Finance

We have an urgent opening for Legal manager in leading nbfc in Bangalore.

Purpose of Role :

- Guidance and decision making for legal activities for filing relevant legal cases/actions.

- Maximize productivity of legal process across India.

Key Responsibilities :

- Support in the achievement of Collections / Recoveries Target through legal initiatives - Ensuring timely allocation of cases for issuance of demand notices, complaint filing etc in accordance with the defined legal and dunning strategy grid

- Business Prudence and Guidance - Recommending the lawyers that will be used by the Company including evaluation of their effectiveness and reporting of performance (gross returns, net returns, costs expended).

- Compliance/Adherence - To ensure legal collection activities are carried out in line with the regulatory guidelines and within stipulated time limits.

- Post-Mortem analysis. Analysis of drivers of risk collections, drivers of write-off (customer types, brands, programs, % under dispute, etc.) including recommendations for any policy or practice changes to minimize future loss.

- Organizing Conciliator & Lok Adalats on behalf of the company before the various Courts, tribunals across India.

- Ensure maintenance of proper MIS's and records for all cases wherein legal has been initiated (at different stages of delinquency and litigation).

- Taking decisions and ensures timely and effective legal action and coordinates with panel advocates to resolve hard collections cases.

- Initiates timely legal collection process for cheque bouncing offence/ arbitration (choose as applicable) and ensures optimal case coverage by engaging appropriate advocates.

- Initiates and suggests appropriate legal recovery options for branches, besides sending various legal notices as provisioned.

- Minimize delinquency and optimize collections through settlements and negotiations through various legal means.

- Supporting the branch hard collections team by providing legal support.

- Attending court/Advocate's firm frequently for reviewing various legal cases filed against the delinquent customers.

- Attending police stations as and when required for any call, enquiry, investigation, complaint or requisition.

- Publish timely report based on legal measures and recovery.

- Validating legal bills sent by the Advocates for actual payment.

- Suggesting new avenues of legal action and tools to enhance collections and subsequently implementing the same successfully with effective measures.

- Taking measures for defending any case against the company and effective resolution.

- Enhancing the settlement process by negotiating with the customers against whom legal case has been filed.

- Conducting Pan India Con Call for better legal clarity and guidance.

- Impaneling new law firms for taking care of the legal cases at various parts of India.

- Controlling the legal cost and reducing remarkably the cost of legal activities.

- Visiting branches and courts across India for reviewing legal cases, legal officers and actionable.

- Guidance for police complaint against the customer or Agency for any fraud business and pursuance for effective resolution.
