Role:

Implement and continuously improve Health & Safety (H&S) management systems. Comply with all regulatory H&S requirements. Assess, prioritize and reduce H&S risks to the lowest level practicable. Embed effective H&S operational controls at every level in the organization. Set objectives and monitor H&S performance. Implement corrective actions where safety issues are identified.

Responsibilities:

- Ensures that organization understands and meets regulatory compliance requirements.

- Ensures Risk Assessments are completed and significant risk is brought to leadership attention.

- Provides technical support to implement effective H&S programs in line with the Organisations requirements.

- Measures performance through KPIs

- Prepares and presents management reviews to site leadership

- Work independently on complex EHS issues for Risk C locations/organization

- Large multi-modality site or group of sites in close proximity with high risk and high complexity

Core Activities:

- Assures regulatory compliance to H&S regulations and corporate H&S compliance

- Maintains risk assessments and elevates significant risk to leadership;

- Develops and delivers high quality and appropriate expert EHS advice to operational leadership.

- Develops, maintains and continuously improves the EHS program to ensure compliance with applicable requirements.

- Trains and develops employees in EHS matters to create EHS awareness.

- Conducts in-depth research and analysis of the Organisation programs; prepares business case and presents analysis and recommendations to business leadership.

- Develops site or organization specific EHS plans

- Prepares local policy on EHS for Risk Level 2 and 1 organization and drives its implementation.

- Acts as the EHS contact to external stakeholders.

- Is the first level in the organization to address for integral EHS issues or expert in a certain field.

- Solves complex, abstract problems while balancing resource, schedule and financial factors.

- Works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives.

- Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

- Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.

- Makes medium-term (i.e., 3-5 years) strategic and policy decisions for the function, and recommends medium to long-term strategic directions, which have impact across the business.

- Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel (Team Lead).

- Managing activities with complex hazards and high probability if not managed adequately

You are a part of :

- Site Operations Leadership team and global safety team.

Required Skills:

- BE/BTech with over 15 years of relevant experience

- Operations. Works under the supervision of and is coached by the BG H&S Leader or a more senior H&S professional - Markets. Works under direction of the Regional H&S H&S Leader.

- Is a recognized global expert in certain specialized fields. Coaches other EHS professionals.

- Counsels management to ensure that sound decisions or plans are being made and when changes in the regulations occur.

- Develops implements and maintains EHS policies and systems in a cost effective way.

- Identify and monitor developing issues that may impact the Organisation and integrate required actions into the strategic & operational planning process

- Is seen as renowned expert in certain specialized EHS fields

H&S Audit:

- H&S auditor

- Conducts evaluation and internal audits for EHS programs and procedures.
