Job Responsibilities: New Projects: Work with Global team and lead APQP efforts for India supply base New Supplier Evaluation and Selection : Perform Quality / Technical capability/ Business system audits of candidate Suppliers to assess fitness for use by Company. Collaborate with Suppliers and company during design reviews to ensure manufacturing feasibility, design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA).Assist Suppliers to maintain 100% Quality, On time/ First time right and compliance for all preproduction builds and production builds. Supplier Development &amp; VAVE : Identify systemic root cause issues driving quality system / manufacturing process gaps. Use objective data to prioritize work. Implement VAVE/ Lean to bring the cost down. - Training : Conduct training classes focused on the tools of quality - Corrective Action; Part Qualification Request process; Production Part Approval Process (PPAP); etc. - Supplier Production Readiness : Conduct on-site run at rate audits to assess Supplier process capability and quality system effectiveness. - Print / Process Evaluation : Assess pre-released prints for geometric dimensioning and tolerance errors and provide feedback to Engineering. - Evaluate Supplier manufacturing plans including preliminary control plan for gaps prior to actual run at rate audit. - Project Management : Monitor progress of Supplier plans to goals for improvement / implementation. Report results to program launch leads and or Supervisor. Take appropriate actions when progress to goals are not achieved. - Rejection analysis and resolution: Evaluate trends in warranty and take appropriate corrective actions with top issues. Qualifications : - BE-Mechanical/ Industrial DIPLOMA + Degree with 70% Marks - To have good knowledge of measuring instruments and equipment used in manufacturing process - Core competency in Die casting, machining but should also be able to handle overall. - Proficient in the work on Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP), Statistical Process Control (SPC); Geometric Dimensioning &amp; Tolerancing (GD&amp;T); Measurement System Analysis (MSA), FMEA and PPAP's. - Quality System / Mfg Process Auditing experience and knowledge of ISO 9001/ TS 16949 requirements, - Strong team and / or autonomous technical problem solving skills. - Strong communication and presentation skills (verbal and written). - Flexibility to travel as required to supplier locations and work with all levels of internal and external customers - Effective negotiation, communication, decision making and problem solving skill - Functional knowledge of engineering documentation, manufacturing process control, and technical data. Key points : - Incumbent should be Proficient (APQP), (SPC); (GD&amp;T); (MSA), FMEA and PPAP's. - Incumbent Must be certified Six Sigma Green belt/ Black belt - Incumbent should be from Die Casting,/Sheet metal / Machining background - Incumbent should be technically sound very good at Quality fundamentals.
