Lead - Private Investments - Family Office - Private Equity/Venture Capital

About the Role : 

As Lead - Private Investments, the candidate will be leading the Family Office efforts in its Private Investments vertical, right from identifying and evaluating investment opportunities to monitoring and reviewing them periodically and finally to recommending and executing timely exits from the same. 

- The emoluments associated to the profile, in addition to a fixed component as per the industry standards, may also include a kicker in the form of a portfolio performance based variable component. This may be akin to a traditional ESOP plan of a company / carry fee of a VC Fund, but applied in the portfolio management space.

1. Coverage : 

- VC/PE Funds and associated co-investment opportunities.

- Direct Early Stage/Seed Investments into ventures through a platform/group of investors

- Direct Early Stage Investments into strategically aligned ventures

2. Lead Capabilities : 

- Conversant with all product types and investment vehicles in this space with deep understanding of valuations and business fundamentals.

- Experience of investing into the technology space with a good understanding of one or more from the areas of Electric and Shared Mobility, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Internet of Things, Big Data Analytics, and other such domains.

- Ability to network and coordinate with external agencies such as Family Office advisors, Investment Bankers, other Family Offices, Wealth Managers, Fund Managers, market experts, and other intermediaries.

- Ability to evaluate and prepare case detailed investment rationale for different investment options in the space after diving deep into the target ventures and seeking views if required from other market experts.

3. Lead Responsibilities : 

- To identify investment options by own initiative as well as evaluate options coming from external agencies and devise and follow a detailed investment recommendation and approval process for decision making.

- To coordinate with all external advisors, distributors, and product manufacturers, establishing a seamless flow of investment ideas and recommendations/advice and maintain a repository of the same, ensuring preparation of periodic MIS reports.

- To continuously monitor investments in the portfolio on a stand-alone basis as well as their impact on the overall portfolio risk-return characteristics. To lead reviews of the portfolio and its individual components from time to time.

- To ensure the timely completion, presentation and analysis of the MIS for the vertical.

- To constantly engage with Fund Managers, business owners, and investment bankers to find potential exit opportunities for investments in the portfolio as per agreed strategy.

- To develop and maintain a network with other Family Offices and investors in the unlisted investment space to be able to stay updated on markets and opportunities as well as to figure out co-investment and joint evaluation possibilities.
