Media
- Lead and strengthen organization's media engagements in consultation with the Communications Specialist and Strategic Communications Lead.
- Design and implement a strategy to draw the attention of international media outlets/journalists to organization's research.
- Work closely with the Communications Specialist, Communications Associate and partners to develop strategies to nurture deep relationships with the print and electronic media within and outside India.
- Work closely with the Strategic Communications Lead and Communications Specialist (Media) to inform and enhance organization's media strategy.
- Identify and ensure timely announcements at topical moments such as key policy announcements, topical days, sectoral developments, etc.
- Support other members of the outreach team in editing/reviewing opinion pieces and press releases, and other communication material.
- Develop interesting story/content ideas for different mediums and readers.
- Support the CEO and other senior researchers to respond to inquiries from print, electronic and digital media.
- Support the Communications Specialist to identify, secure and sustain strategic brand partnerships.
- Ensure strict adherence to organization's brand guidelines.
Additional responsibilities :
- Mentor the Communications Associate and outreach interns as and when required.
- Support other members of the outreach team in the creation and dissemination of organization's e-newsletters bi-monthly/every quarter.
- Explore emerging formats, platforms and mediums for organization to publicize its research.
Work experience and other skills :
- 3-5 years of experience
- Should have experience in extensive PR management
- Prior experience in media engagement. Strong media connections with regional, national and international media would be a plus.
- Proven track record of delivering high quality written content for different mediums.
- Prior experience in a media agency will be an advantage.
- Excellent content writing skills.
- Excellent grasp of English language.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent eye for detail.
- Creative thinker with demonstrated success in implementing out-of-the-box content ideas.
- Demonstrated abilities to manage multiple priorities, projects and internal/external resources in a fast-paced environment, while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
- Strong drive and initiative, a self-starter.
