About the Role:

- We are looking for an exceptional and experienced professional with a compliance and legal background to help our customers with legal and secretarial matters. This is a highly unique role that lies at the intersection of Legal x Secretarial x Product.

- Candidate should have hands on experience and in-depth understanding of all secretarial and legal functions with respect to fundraising, managing equity grants (ESOPs/SARs), and general corporate matters for companies operating out of India, US, and Singapore.

- You'll also be responsible for helping us build legal and secretarial workflows on Equity List by liaising with our product team.

- The ideal candidate is someone with expertise in venture capital financing and is excited about bringing their depth of experience and an execution mindset to a fast-growing company.

- Regulatory expertise is essential for this role, which will also require comfort across various areas and applications of law and general corporate matters. This person will work closely with our team across functions and levels with a high degree of autonomy and agency.

You will:

- Provide subject matter expertise across secretarial, legal, and tax-related avenues for equity grants (ESOPs/SAR/RSUs)

- Work with our customers in help prepare ESOP/SAR scheme documents for companies registered in India, US and Singapore

- Liaise with the operations team in assisting our customers with secretarial documents

- Coordinate with our valuer partners (registered valuers and merchant bankers) to deliver - Valuation Reports for our customers

- Help in hiring required resources across CA/legal roles as and when the scale of operations increase

- Work with our product teams to help build secretarial and compliance workflows on our product-

You have:

- Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, or qualified CS

- A minimum of 3 years working experience with a top-tier legal firm / CS firm / PE or VC funds/ - Indian start-ups / or equivalent

- Experience in working with regulators is a plus!

- Mastery of core taxation and legal concepts and a strong interest in the nuts and bolts of equity grants and venture financing

- Expertise in Corporate Law, Income-tax Act, FEMA laws, and practical knowledge of securities and regulatory compliance

- Good communication and management skills

- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, innovative, rapidly changing start-up business environment and get up to speed in new areas of law comfortably, quickly, and effectively.
