- Will be responsible for all the products in their product lines development, management, improvement. They will be responsible for translating the portfolio board's vision for a product to the cross functional team and will ensure that the vision is translated into actionable plans and ultimately materializes in the final output.
- The product leader must have product mindset, strong instructional design skills, stakeholder management abilities, customer-centric mindset, data, tools and technology orientation and must follow lean development principles.
The product leader will be responsible for:
1. Alignment with Portfolio board
2. Development and management strategy for their product lines
3. Continuous improvement of the products and processes in their product lines
4. Stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration
5. Market success of their products
In order to do so, the product leader will :
1. Create Product backlog & roadmap for their product lines
2. Do market and competition analysis to create their product roadmap
3. Prioritize the Product backlog along with the Portfolio board
4. Work with the Portfolio board and translate the board's vision and directives to all stakeholders
5. Be responsible for success of all the products in their product line
6. Work in close collaboration with cross-functional teams to take the product to market and ensure its success
7. Create visibility for their product lines in collaboration with other teams
8. Provide Instructional design guidance in developing most effective design and learning experience
9. Create, monitor and manage the build plan for their product line in collaboration with the program manager
10. Maintain and build relationships with experts and other stakeholders
11. Measure product line performance and take data-driven corrective actions
12. Participate in all marketing and enablement programs
13. Continuously improve the product as per market feedback and requirements
14. Continuously improve the development process
Skills Needed :
1. Instructional Design Expertise - product leaders should have strong instructional design skills to create an effective learning experience with their product line and products, which results in increased product demand.
2. Stakeholder management - The leader should be very strong at stakeholder management and communication. The leader should be able to meet the stakeholder expectations and set the right stakeholder expectations.
3. Strong Interpersonal skills - The leader should have strong interpersonal skills to develop strong relationships with all stakeholders, build relationships and influence decision-making. They should be able to work with all cross-functional teams to ensure the success of their products.
4. Learner/Customer-centric mindset - The leader should be empathetic to the audience and understand the learner and customer needs in building end-to-end experience and solution accordingly.
5. Program Management - Should be able to manage the build and maintenance plans of the products in their product line in conjunction with the program manager. Should also be able to apprehend risks and create risk mitigation and contingency plans.
6. Strategic Thinking - Should be able to understand customer requirement and company's vision and translate those into innovative actionable plans leading to continuous improvement of quality and productivity
7. Data-driven mindset - The leader should be proficient in using data to analyze feedback, market trends, measure product performance and data-driven decisions.
8. Tools & Technology Usage - The leader should be aware of the latest tools and technologies available that enhance quality, efficiency and save production cost.
9. Adaptability - Should be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities and requirements
10. Agile Champion - Should be nimble and apply lean and agile principles in product development and continuous process improvement
11. Continuous Improvement Mindset - Should endeavor to continuously improve the product and process and continuously learn and stay attuned to the latest in the industry and its application to their product lines.
