The purpose of the role

We're looking for an experienced candidate who could take the lead for creating strategic plan for building relationship with key stakeholders in both central & state governments and, at industry forums / bodies with an aim to build on SKF's business strategic objectives. We also expect candidate to work closely with different business teams to identify critical areas of intervention.

Key responsibilities

- Responsible for strategic relationship management on behalf of the organization with Central & State Government Ministries

- Responsible to get approvals from Central and State Government Authorities as and when needed.

- Engage the stake holders in state government ministries to build relationships and to co-create public policies in the manufacturing, industrial business domain.

- Develops and implements strategies to enable important policy development and legislation to support the company businesses.

- Initiates and leads organizations efforts to align and complement member and key stakeholder public policy positions and strategies in respective states.

- Attend Government Committee meetings that relate to Manufacturing, automotive, heavy & medium industries etc, and tracks legislation that is relevant to the organization.

- Represents the organization to work and engage with Industry Associations and bodies at Centre and State Level.

- Monitor and review political, social and economic trends and analyses the impact on company objectives and plans.

- Ensures proper escalation channel is available in case of any delay in clearances from regulatory bodies

- Appropriately supervises for submission / communication to the regulatory bodies.

- As the primary representative of Company for the region, ensure organization concerns/suggestions are communicated at the right time & in the right forums to be duly considered while policy decisions are taken.

- Review and summarize miscellaneous reports and documents concerning government policies and notifications with a view to analyze effect on company operations and prepare and report actionable to Business Heads / Plant Heads.

- Anticipate, analyze and help mitigate issues that will affect the company's reputation and performance.

- Develop, implement & monitor a strong governance within the company for handling of all Govt relation matters / for third parties engaged by the company for such matters.

Qualifications:

- Masters or equivalent in Technologies, Management Studies, Humanities, Public Policy or Public Administration/or/ Law

- Minimum 10 - 15+ years experience

- A combination of corporate and legal experience, in addition to an understanding of the B2B manufacturing industry and the issues and challenges it faces, preferred.
