Lead Data Scientist/Senior Data Scientist

Required Knowledge & Skills and/or Related Experience:

Leadership

- Manage a team of data scientists, data engineers and machine learning dev ops professionals and lead data science projects from defining business problem to developing and implementing end to end data science solution.

- Responsible for the conception, planning, and prioritizing of data science projects.

- Partner with business stakeholders and leadership team and ensure that projects align with organizational goals.

- Teach, lead, and demo team members on new techniques or solutions.

- Theoretical and applied principles of statistical analysis, machine learning, data mining, and other research methodologies

- Data Science: proficient in exploratory data analysis, detecting patterns, analyzing distributions, visualizing results and extracting insights to help business make informed data driven decisions.

- Understanding of statistics, probability, regression, databases, data transformation and visualization tools.

- Machine learning: proficient in supervised and unsupervised algorithms to build predictive models and prescriptive solutions to support various business use cases.

- Experience with algorithms - decision trees, logistic regression, random forest, XGBoost, Kmeans, anomaly detection. Interpretable ML - Shapley values, feature engineering and selection.

- Cloud Computing: proficient in one of the top three cloud computing platforms preferably in Google Cloud Computing.

- Experience with Cloud ML platform, distributed computing, data pipelines, cloud data stores and serving engine.

- Programming: proficient in Python tech stack - Python, Pandas, Numpy, R, Scikit learn, PySpark, Matplotlib, TensorFlow

- Familiarity with software tools and methodologies - GitHub, Continuous integration and delivery, agile methodologies- Scrum/Kanban

- Communication Skills: able to explain technical details to a non-technical audience.
