Lead Data Scientist

Our client is a global provider of cloud software in Oil Trading and Marine industries and specializes in providing cloud technologies to enable companies to integrate, automate and optimize business processes, driving efficiency and revenue growth. They have offices in London (HQ), Dubai, Houston and Chennai. They primarily help mid-sized players with streamlining their trading and operations activities. Clients are based globally in Europe, USA, Middle East.

Key Responsibilities

- Selecting features, building and optimizing classifiers using machine learning techniques

- Data mining using state-of-the-art methods

- Extending company's data with third party sources of information when needed

- Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems

- Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis

- Doing ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in a clear manner

- Creating automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking of its performance

Candidate requirements

- Data analysis with insight as an output

- Data modelling, learning algorithms regression, neural networks, decision trees etc.

- Technical tools especially Python

- Knowledge of statistics, linear algebra, calculus

- Good communications skills with emphasis on translating technical to businesses issues and vice versa

- Willingness to travel for projects maximum 20% travel every year.

- Previous experience in Oil & Gas or Trading is a plus
