Position : Lead - Business Development, Nutraceuticals

Location :- Hyderabad

Reporting to: Head BD India & EM

Purpose of the role: To Enable significant value creation in Nutrition business through high value in-licensing partnerships and strategic alliances. For India and Ems through - In-licensing, Acquisitions, alliance management

Education Qualifications:- Candidate should be a management graduate with degree preferably in life sciences/ pharmacy. Should have minimum of 8-10 years' work experience in Strategic management / Partnering / BD / Alliance Management in Nutrition, FMCG, and Nutraceuticals business.

Business Understanding - Should have understanding of Nutrition and pharmaceutical industry & a broad understanding of global markets Esp China, should be able to identify trends & relate macro economic developments with impact on local market, understand & track competitors, understanding of internal processes, people & organisation business in the Territory. Preferably should have handled Contract Manufacturers in Europe, Australia, China and India for Nutraceuticals/Nutrition.

Knowledge: - Nutraceuticals and Nutrition knowledge/focus, data analytics, Market Understanding, contract/agreement basic terms, Key Financial terms, Negotiation skills

Areas of Responsibility:-

1) In licensing - To identify portfolio gaps, strengthen portfolio in existing Nutraceuticals business and channels and manage lifecycle management through licensing in order to maximise value generation, and enhance Dr Reddy's Nutraceuticals portfolio

- Pipeline Management

-Drive the Screening of potential partners worldwide for the source; Proactive market reachout to generate strong and relevant leads

-Manage pipeline of deals of in-licensing other brands

- Get the deals signed off and hand hold during execution. Track BD deals of benchmark companies/Nutraceuticals/nutrition companies globally to understand the rationale, economics, mechanism/approach and learnings.

- Identifying and partnering CMO across the globe

- Help identify and formalise partnership with CMOs related to Nutraceuticals /Nutrition for global supplies esp China and India.

- Value Generation

-Closely work with the Nutraceuticals Business Head/team to identify the product/brand opportunities essential for portfolio ramp up

-Leverage Dr.Reddy's Nutra scale of operations/portfolio/networks/assets, maximise value generation and enhance Dr.Reddy's offering & image in identified therapy area/ channel.

2) Internal Deal Management -

- Do the financial modelling and patient modelling for arriving at the valuation of the asset.

- Negotiate with the partners for win proposition.

- Get the business case, term sheet and the agreement signed off. Hand-hold with alliance management for successful regulatory approval and commercial launch. Work with finance, legal, quality, medical, supply chain teams to ensure due diligence of products/portfolios that are going to be licensed-in In order to enable Dr. Reddy's launch unique and novel products and global brands which shall provide impetus to achieving leadership position.

- Lead term sheet sign/ agreement off & due diligence, ensure adherence to BDguidelines, contract development & sign off through engaging legal, finance, Nutrition R&D, regulatory, SCM teams IN ORDER TO ensure compliance & appropriate terms, conditions & safeguards in the agreement.

3) External partner and alliance Management

- Build & Leverage relationships

- Develop & nurture relationships with existing & potential partners through regular engagement,

- Proactively develops a network of contacts including senior leaders, operational teams, partners , and leaders across organizations

- Create internal alignment for the alliance by sharing information on market, product & company developments, monthly reports, regular face to face interactions which builds trust, mutual respect & transparency

- Outline the scope of the alliance. Outline the structure of the alliance and build win-win scenario for alignment of both the parties.

- Resolve escalated conflicts among stakeholders.

4) Acquisition

- Drive the agenda for inorganic business in all the regions by facilitating acquisition through opportunity identification, consultant engagement, proposal evaluation, lead development and agreement development In order to give step change to the Nutraceuticals Business in terms of top line and the brand portfolio.

- Proactive market reachout to generate strong and relevant leads

- Review the opportunities, share a clear POV to country teams to filter deals. Support diligence /evaluation/negotiations of the target assets to drive right decisions for successful outcomes

- Generate focus of M&A team, finance and Region Heads in overall process of agreement development

- Project manage the post deal integrate activities; facilitate and enable country teams/functions.
