Lead Analyst or Assistant Director (ESG advisory and reporting) - Mumbai

A. Company Overview:

CARE Analytics and Advisory Pvt. Ltd. (CAAPL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of CARE Ratings Ltd., is a leading consultancy firm specializing in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) advisory services.

We work with diverse industries to enhance sustainability, manage risks, and drive positive impact. Our team is expanding, and we are seeking a seasoned professional to join our growing team in ESG advisory role.

B. Position Overview:

- As ESG specialist, the successful candidate will bring 5-8 years of relevant experience in ESG advisory and reporting assignments.

- The candidate will play a crucial role in advising clients on various ESG integration assignments including peer benchmarking, gap analysis, policy advisory, strategy, KPIs, road maps and ESG reporting through various standards and frameworks, such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, BRSR and IIRC.

C. Key Responsibilities:

- Peer benchmarking study to identify best practices and gaps

- Developing various ESG policies as required

- Conducting materiality assessment and presenting materiality matrix to senior management

- Work with senior management to decide upon strategy, roadmap and KPI

- Develop content around various environment, Social and Governance disclosures

- Publish ESG reports in line with reporting standards and frameworks

D. Must have skills and experience:

- Should have handled mid and large corporates for various ESG integration projects

- Experience in drafting and finalising entire BRSR for corporates and institutions

- Well aware about ESG reporting standards and requirements

- Excellent presentation and MS Excel skill set

- Effective communication skills and should able to lead calls with senior management at client location

E. Good to have skills (Candidate should have at least one of the below desired experience):

- Exposure to assignment involving ESG due diligence under various frameworks

- Knowledge of IFC due diligence framework, SFDR framework

- Exposure to ESG rating frameworks, such as MSCI, Sustainalytics, DJSI, CDP, and Ecovadis

F. Qualifications and Experience:

- Master's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Finance, or a related field.

- 5-8 years of professional experience with focus on ESG advisory roles

- Strong understanding of ESG regulations and developments around it

- In-depth knowledge of ESG standards (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD, BRSR) and reporting framework IIRC.

- Proven experience in client engagement and project management.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills

- Relevant certifications in ESG will be an added advantage

G. Travel requirement:

- Candidate should be willing to travel to client location (if required)
