The opportunity is with a not-for-profit trust that was set up in 2009 to undertake the redevelopment of one of India's most vibrant but congested localities in Mumbai. This ambitious redevelopment project comprising 16.5 acres of landform has approximately 250 existing buildings.

About the Job :

- Minimum Experience: The candidate with a minimum of 4-8 years of experience with the Real Estate Industry or Real Estate Advisory with a law firm.

Essential:

- LLB (three or five-year program)

- Well-versed with and proven experience working on cases involving RERA, Land & Revenue laws, MHADA and Property Laws, especially the Rent Control Act.

- Excellent IT skills, especially MS Office proficiency

- Outstanding attention to detail

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities

- Experience of working as part of in-house legal teams of Real Estate Industry or Law firm

- The expertise of WAQF matters

Profile:

The candidate will be responsible for researching and reviewing legal documents, coordinating with legal consultants, attending matters in court on behalf of the organization, advice on various legal matters pertaining to contracts or property laws

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities :

- Sound knowledge of the real estate laws and land laws of Maharashtra in Marathi & English

- Coordination with consultants and providing legal opinion on various matters

- Handling, Managing & Representing Cases/Suits before the competent authorities and related Hon'ble Courts.

- Liaising with Senior Lawyers and Government Authorities concerning matters pending before them

- Drafting of various Suits, Complaints, Agreements, Affidavits, Lease Deeds, Leave & License Agreement, PoAs, Sales Deeds, Agreement to sell, Declarations, Indemnities etc. concerning the projects of the organization

- Filing objections, applications, appeals, revisions before the Authorities as and when required

- Other Legal Compliances as directed by the organization from time to time
