Head - Buying and Merchandising
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understand Global Fashion trends, market dynamics and competition offering in India and adapt products to suit Indian customer tastes
- Undertake competition benchmarking (in terms of product, pricing and process)
- Proactively present ideas for Product improvement and business growth
- Capture market feedback and ensure required actions are taken to address the feedback
- Identify and launch new product categories
- Explore international sourcing as an opportunity for cost & risk optimization, new product development and scale of operations
- Constantly work towards enhancing efficiencies to deliver better profitability
- Ensure competitive pricing and appropriate positioning of the product
- Understand the customer aspirations, customer profile and their emerging needs
- Ensure translation of the customer requirements to the product offerings
Specifications for an ideal candidate:
- Minimum 25 years Experience, of which minimum 15 years in International Fashion Apparel and Retail in Europe and Middle East
- Should have worked in large Fashion Retailing companies heading Buying and Merchandising teams.
- In depth understanding of Fashion and retail business
- Sound knowledge of product design, sourcing, and category management
- Should have experience of managing multiple categories and large team of designers and buyers.
