LandisGyr - Data Scientist

The Data Scientist is responsible for analyzing large amounts of raw information to find patterns, develop algorithms, build tools/techniques, etc. to extract valuable business insights. This person should be highly analytical with a knack for analysis, math and statistics. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential for interpreting data. This person should also have a passion for machine-learning and research.

The Job :

- Work with all internal and external stakeholders to interpret data to get actionable insights.

- Collect, process and apply statistical algorithms to structured data

- Design experiments, test hypotheses, and build models/ frame business/domain scenarios that are meaningful and which impact on critical business processes and/or decisions.

- Develop machine learning algorithms to serve the needs of L+G products and solutions in the Smart Grid Domain

- Conduct data analysis and design moderately complex designs algorithm.

- Work with stakeholders to identify the business/domain requirements and the expected outcome.

- Work with and alongside business analysts for resolving business/domain problems

- Build models

Desired Skills and Qualifications :

- The ideal candidate should have experience in analyzing various forms of data and is capable of working with various business domains

- MS/Ph.D. in computer science, applied mathematics or any business-related applied mathematics field.

- Experience 3 to 6 years

Strong Experience in :

- Relational and Object oriented (NoSQL) Databases

- SQL and other DB Scripting languages

- Using MongoDB (good knowledge of tuning and queries optimization)

- Database (SQL server 2012, SQL, SSIS and PL SQL, Oracle, etc.)

- Statistical/analytics software (R, Python, Stata, SAS, Matlab, etc.)

- Excel, Powerpoint/Keynote

- Experience/Familiarity with integrating results from a data analysis into visuals in dashboards or reports.

- Knowledge of Version control, TFS or similar source control tools

- Very focused person and sharp attention to details

- Effective oral and written communication skills in English.

- Some knowledge of machine learning, graph tools or natural language processing is a plus.

- Experience in visualization software (Tableau, Spark, etc.)

- Experience with Hadoop, Pig, Scalding, etc.
