The Head of Data Engineering will oversee end to end data engineering activities to support Data Science, Data Visualization teams in enabling business for Data Driven Operations and Decision making. Certification: - Certification in Big Data Technologies - Certification in Cloud Platforms AWS (preferred) followed by GCP and Azure Responsibilities : - Define the data engineering practice - including its Vision, Strategy, Capacities and Capabilities - Draw up a clear roadmap to achieve the data engineering vision and maturity - Build, lead and coach a highly competent Data Engineering Team - Design, implement and oversee the development of a complex, distributed system which provides an efficient data pipeline for scalable ML analysis, and data transformation and analytics - Architect data warehouses/data lakes etc. with big data technologies such as Spark, Python & Kafka and leveraging Maching Learning cloud platforms such as AWS (preferred) followed by GCP / Azure - Track data consumption patterns, performing intelligent sampling and caching, monitor schema changes and recommend opportunity areas - Work with data governance teams, vet contents created by data engineers to the curated data catalogue for governed reuse - Identify tooling and infrastructure capabilities to enable teams to efficiently complete and maintain data science projects - Actively contribute to Engineering Process efficiencies such as CI/CD, Security enhancements, quality improvements, etc. - Ensure responsible consumption of the provisioned data through governance mechanisms and compliance initiatives - Provide technical leadership on tooling and infrastructure Guide, supervise and train a team of data engineers using Agile, DevOps and DataOps principles Experience : - 15+ years of experience in the field of Data Engineering - 8+ years experience in data management discipline which includes data ingestion, preparation, provisioning, automated testing, and quality checks. - 6+ Hands-on experience in Big Data cloud platforms like AWS, Data Lakes, and Data Warehouses - 5+ years of experience in SAP BW - Strong experience with advanced analytics tools using languages such as R, Python, Scala or others - Strong experience in working with large, heterogeneous datasets in building and optimizing data pipelines, pipeline architectures and integrated datasets - Strong experience in working with and optimizing existing ETL processes and data integration and data preparation flows and helping to move them in production - Interface with Product Managers to understand data needs and partner with Product and Engineering teams to identify trends and opportunities - Experience in designing and building streaming data platforms in Lambda / Kappa architectures
