- OS - Linux - Mandatory - Kernel programming, Networking internals

- Language - Expert proficiency in one language (C/C++), Programming concepts

- Data structures & Algorithms

- System appreciation - Architecture, design, coding best practices, Performance, scale, HA - hands on expertise. Have worked on 2 yrs in full-fledged system appreciation role

- Able to influence customer - Technical know-how, fast rampup, analogy building, Influencing and communication skills

Skill Area/Skill Details

- Domain / Standards Layer 2 protocols - not limited to VLAN, STP, RSPT/MSTP, Bridging/Switching, Virtual Switching, Link layer methodologies

- Layer 3 protocols - IGP & EGP suite of protocols, IPv6 technologies, Customer specific technologies (Cisco, Juniper etc) are preferred

- SDN, Network Virtualization, Control and data plane architecture & development

- Transport ProtocolsIPv4/IPv6, IPSec

- Design Methodologies- OOD / UML

- Tools- Traffic simulators, NM tools

- Scripting- Perl or Shell scripting
