Job Summary:

The Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) is responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the company, in the areas of talent acquisition, training and development, annual appraisal, performance management, organizational management, compensation structure, promotional policies and succession planning. The CHRO provides strategic leadership by articulating HR needs and plans to the executive management team, shareholders and the board of directors.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position is directly responsible for leading managers of the HR Department responsible for all employees within the ddepartment. The person is responsible for supervising and managing all HR subsystems - (1) Performance Appraisal, (2) Potential Appraisal, (3) Career Planning, (4) Training, (5) Organisational Development, (6) Rewards, (7) Counselling, (8) Quality Circle, (9) Role Analysis (10) Human Resources Planning (11) Procurement and Placement (12) Job Rotation and (13) Quality of Working Life.

Duties/Responsibilities:

- Establish and implement HR efforts that effectively communicate and support the company's mission and strategic vision.

- Develop HR plans, strategies and policies to support the achievement of the overall business operations objectives.

- Function as a strategic business advisor to the senior management of each department/section regarding key organizational and management issues.

- Work with the company's executive management team to establish a sound plan of management succession that corresponds to the strategy and objectives of the company.

- Develop comprehensive strategic recruitment and retention plans.

- Develop and implement compensation and benefits policies/plans that are competitive and cost-effective.

- Provide overall leadership and guidance to the HR function by overseeing talent acquisition, career development, succession planning, retention, training, leadership development, compensation and benefits.

- Analyze HR software/s and recommend suitable software for the company

Required Skills/Abilities:

- Excellent oral and written communication skills.

- Superior interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.

- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.

- Knowledge of and experience with varied human resource information systems.

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and HR software operation.

- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Education and Experience:

- A B.Tech degree from an accredited college/university with a post-graduate degree in Human Resources from an accredited Tier-I/II Institute/ university; However, an MBA or MA or its equivalent qualification in human resources or related field is essential.

- A minimum of 15 years of HR experience, with at least 9 years of Head HR experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

- An additional degree in Law is preferred.

- Professional certification in HR
