Roles and responsibilities :

- We are recruiting Chartered Accountants for Bangalore Location. Working as a Manager, your responsibilities will include:

Insurance Industry/Healthcare Industry - Practice Development Manager - Bangalore

- The professional is responsible for managing the technical consultation on a large portfolio of US Insurance industry clients and elements of risk management on the work that can be taken up by GDC considering the permissible procedures and approved Industry specific audit procedure guidance.

- Professional will play a key role in the development of the team, coach and act as a mentor for the team-members on the US Insurance industry specific areas of audit work that could be done on a remote platform. The professional will build strong relationships with the US colleagues and clients (on a case by case basis), identifying areas where GDC can improve quality and increase the scope of work.

Engagement responsibilities :

- Be a mentor to a team of Manager/s, Seniors and Associates and train them to deliver high Quality Insurance industry specific work on time and within the time estimates made and agreed with the US engagement teams.

- Develop and maintain productive relationships with key US Insurance industry leaders and contacts to grow GDC business through -

- Establishing expectations of value to be delivered on the engagements worked up on from GDC

- Building industry specific knowledge and capabilities within the GDC teams

- Work closely with the US audit engagement teams to transition new engagements and services to GDC while maintaining high quality of service

- Identify opportunities to standardize and optimize audit processes across a portfolio of clients and the industry

- Develop an understanding of KPMG (US and specific to GDC) Quality and Risk Management procedures, and ensure these are embedded into the GDC team's work papers

- Proactively discuss audit procedures with the GDC teams, allocating right resources (wherever needed) to work and monitor performance against standards by performing continuous reviews

- For select engagements/projects, perform US Senior / Manager level reviews of work prepared by GDC teams as approved by the US engagement teams under the guidance from DPP or the risk teams

- Monitor and manage key industry specific Performance Quality metrics for the GDC teams

- Understand scope of GDC offerings across all lines of businesses to provide overall solutions for engagement teams- needs (D&A, IDEA, KAAP, Advisory & Tax)

- Demonstrate professionalism, industry competence and clarity of communication when dealing with the US audit engagement teams.

- Use technology (on specific areas of work), continually learn, share knowledge with team members, and enhance service delivery.

- Contribute to technical and soft-skills training to continually develop Skills

- Experience in Insurance (Life, Non-life and Health) industry (US industry exposure is preferable) Integrated and Non-integrated financial statement audit

- Overall work experience (post qualification) of 6 to 8 years in any of the Big 4 firms in India, US or their audit shared service centers in India

- Knowledge of US GAAP / International auditing standards

- Effective interpersonal, risk management, facilitation and presentation Skills

- Project management, leadership, coaching, counselling and supervisory skills

- Excellent communication skills including speaking and writing (including audit documentation) effectively in English

- Ability to spread high performing work culture and live KPMG values

- Ability to quickly form strong working relationship with colleagues in India and in the US

About the role :

- The role is at the level of a Manager

- The role involves majority Individual contribution as a Technical concept mentor for the professionals working on Insurance industry audits with team responsibilities being added at a later point in time

Other requirements :

- Should be flexible to travel to the US wherever there is a need

- Relocate to Bangalore
