Associate 2 - GDC Audit - Bangalore
About the position :
- The Associate - 2 should have prior experience either during CA Articleship or other relevant experience in audit attestation domain and should have proven experience in audit service delivery.
- Prior team management skills and ability to handle stakeholder relationships would be an added advantage.
Broadly, the key responsibilities are :
- Audit service delivery - Be a part of the team that is responsible for audit service delivery and ensure timely and quality audit deliverables on the work done by self and by other junior team members
- Content & industry focus - Build strong domain expertise (accounting & auditing) and industry knowledge to enable better engagement with US ET and improve quality of work performed from GDC
Roles and responsibilities :
The Associate 2 will be predominantly responsible to :
- Be an integral part of teams assigned as Dedicated teams for US audit engagement teams
- Demonstrate understanding and knowledge of industry specific audit procedures
- Ensure the work is performed with high quality and completed within agreed turnaround time
- Timely raise any issues identified to the GDC Seniors, Managers and ET so that the quality and turnaround time are not impacted
- Provide clarifications, train and mentor junior associates on a timely basis on industry specific audit and accounting knowledge and client specific matters on audit work papers
- Perform upfront reviews wherever required for deliverables and as advised by the team lead
- Plan and organize the work in such a way that the Quality and Efficiency are not impacted on the deliverables
- Interact and seek clarifications from US rotationals and ET points of contact
- Understand and capture comments during Quality and Risk Management team (QRM) review and from ET to provide feedback to junior associates
- Work on improvement in audit work papers based on ET feedback
- Continuously adopt process improvements and work towards improving efficiency in the performance of audit
- Develop self by participating in and developing others by facilitating audit conceptual trainings
- Participate in firm's strategic initiatives and/or corporate social responsibility programs
Education and Experience Requirements :
- Qualified CA/US CPA/CMA/ACCA/CFA (Intl) and minimum of Bachelors- degree in Finance & Accounting with first division (60%)
- 0 - 1 year of post qualification experience along with strong Articleship experience from a mid-size or a Big 4 firm in case of CA OR Relevant experience of atleast 2 years in case of possessing certifications other than CA
- Experience with Big 4/leading Audit firms or their shared service center would be preferred
Technical Skills :
- Audit and accounting knowledge
- Good knowledge of MS Office (with an emphasis on MS Excel skills)
- Strong English communication skills (Oral & Written)
Enabling Skills :
- Attention to detail and quality consciousness
- Be a quick learner and demonstrate adaptability to change
- Should be willing to and capable of delivering under tight timelines, basis the business needs including working on weekends
- Should be open to travel to US on short and long term assignments
