Key Responsibilities:

The Special Situations Group is looking to hire an Associate in the Resolution Advisory domain. The practice provides end-to-end services to lenders, corporates, strategic and financial investors in the areas of sell-side and buy-side M&A in stressed assets, debt resolution, fund raising, debt refinancing and financial restructuring services.

Some of the key work areas would include:

- Keep track of sector- and industry-developments and maintain database of key transactions and sector and company profiles

- Develop and maintain sector- and industry-specific presentations and pitchbooks for client meetings

- Work on day-to-day execution of transactions including developing high-quality collaterals including Information Memorandum, financial model, presentations, termsheets etc.

- To support the engagement manager(s) in delivering engagements in the specific sector

- To take onus of identified modules, tasks in the engagement and take responsibility to close them out with minimum supervision

- Understand KPMG's offering in detail and ensure that the same is clearly communicated to client's during relevant interactions

- To work effectively during ensure high quality pitches are delivered within an effective turnaround time

- To support the entire transaction cycle including assisting in term sheet preparation and negotiation, deal structuring, client relationships etc.

- Coordinating and managing due diligence process in the transaction

- Complying with the firm's policies and supporting on deal onboarding, completion of risk processes and engagement documentation as well as follow-up with client as required

- Keep abreast of new developments in the profession, the business, the industry and the regulatory environment

- Build a strong network with peers and professionals in the field

- Full compliance to firm's policies on risk management and independence requirements

Technical Skills required:

- MBA (Finance) from a Tier 1 institute or a CA with good ranking

Experience / Skills required :

- Strong and well-rounded business and macroeconomic understanding

- Understanding of key policy and regulatory measures in relation to the economy and specific aspects such as debt financing and stressed assets

- Knowledge of restructuring laws, regulations and processes including RBI guidelines on Resolution of Stressed Assets, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code etc.

- Good understanding on accounting, financial statements and grasp on key ratios

- Ability to build and operate complex financial models and to develop effective presentations using Powerpoint will be critical

- Extremely high level of comfort with Excel spreadsheets, MS Word and MS Powerpoint and major databases including Capitaline, Bloomberg, EMIS etc.

- Strong analytical bent of mind and structured problem-solving approach

- Good interpersonal skills and strong communication skills - both verbal and written

- Ability to work under pressure on multiple deals - tight timelines which may demand extended working hours

- Demonstrated ability in client and deal management and end-to-end execution

- Minimum relevant work experience of 2 years in deal advisory preferred
