Position Title: Sr. Manager - HR, Compensation & Benefits, India Corporate Services  Department: India Corporate Services (Incl. Sub-Sahara Africa and ME)  Division: Human Resources  BASIC FUNCTION  Under the direction of Director - Corporate Human Resources, the Sr. Manager - Compensation Systems & Mobility and the Manager - Benefits Strategy & Analysis is the principal contact and advisor for Compensation & Benefits within India, Sub-Sahara Africa, and the Middle East, partnering with other Kohler Co. Human Resource Centers of Excellence as appropriate.   Develops, implements, coordinates and assists in the maintenance of plans, policies and programs to compensate and provide benefits to employees in accordance with competitive markets and/or as regulated by labour contractual agreements, in compliance with global, national and local laws and regulations. Provides research, analysis and metrics for the development of compensation strategies with particular focus on new, hot or fast-moving trends and job families. Develops compensation and benefits (C&B) programs that consider both Kohler Co. and local market compensation practices.   The position supports all of the businesses in India, Sub-Saharan Africa, and the Middle East and leads business managers in the activity of linking C&B to the success and strength of the organization. Provides ongoing advice and coaching to management and strategic counsel to Director-HR, K&B India and SSA and GM-HR, Power India on design and deployment of progressive, market-driven, business-aligned Total Reward programs.  SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES  Compensation :  - Recommends and participates in the development of policies, programs and strategies for compensating employees to assure market competitiveness, consistency, equity and validity; giving consideration to individual country practices, laws and regulations.  - Conducts compensation surveys and analyzes survey information to support competitive compensation classifications and individual pay. Recommends market surveys to purchase and/or participate in for the region. Coordinates the market survey participation process for the region.  - Daily provides compensation policy and ACT guidance and strategy to HR and hiring managers, including as required the necessary documentation to effect changes. For ACTs that require US signatures, provides the first-level review prior to the ACT being routed in the US in order to expedite ACT approval. May assist HR Generalists in the region with a review of ACTs against the HR ACT checklist.  - Maintains the SAP organization structure through periodic audits of the structure against approved and actioned ACTs for the region.  - Drives completion of compensation merit increase processes in India, SSA, and the ME. This includes responsibility for coordinating the completion of administrative non-exempt and exempt compensation increases in the region for ADA levels below the CEO.  - Participates in the development of position descriptions and reviews descriptions for completeness and accuracy.  Benefits :   - Designs benefit programs that aid in the attraction and retention of associates.  - Reviews current benefit packages in the region against local, country or regional practices to understand the competitiveness of current benefit packages and makes recommendations regarding benefit plan design changes.  - Works with Benefits to prepare the necessary documentation to obtain approval of benefit plan design changes.  - Oversee annual benefit insurance policy renewals and selection of carriers and third-party administrators.  - Recommend and manage overall wellness strategy for the region which aligns with both Kohler Company and regional business strategies.  Compensation & Benefits :   - Provides a regional resource on compensation and benefits trends and practices by proactively analyzing management, recruiting and/or market practices in the region.  - Maintains liaison with compensation and benefits organizations, other companies, professional groups, etc., to keep abreast of new compensation and benefits developments and exchange information.  - Assists in reviewing compensation and benefits activities to ensure compliance with a country, state, and local wage, salary and hour laws and regulations, and Kohler Co. approval policy and procedures.  - Assists with implementation of communication channels to keep supervision and associates informed on Compensation and Benefits administration policy, procedures and programs.  - Conducts or participates in training sessions on topics related to compensation and benefits.  Other Responsibilities :  - Custodian of Compensation Process Training (Integration sessions for new joiners as well as Refresher sessions for existing associates) for HR teams across all businesses in the region.  - Payroll - ensures accurate payroll for a region.  - Regional Corporate HR Services - ensures accurate SAP records for a region, reconciling SAP records to payroll.   - HR Audits - coordinate and facilitate HR Evaluation Audits for all locations in the region.  - Able to successfully manoeuvre through various HR challenges based on a solid command of HR processes, procedures, and employment laws, and independently work through employee relations issues for exempt and non-exempt associates.  - Mobility - Assists in administering mobility (expatriate and immigration) programs in the region. Captures and tracks expatriate actual allowances and taxes paid as well as changes in status or movement for all expatriates in the region. Obtains and tracks work permits for associates coming into the region.  - Develops and maintains HR's metrics and key performance indicators for the region, and reports results quarterly to HR Process Development in the U.S for consolidation into global metrics.  - Serves as the regional coordinator for HR's semi-annual benchmarking process, currently conducted with Hackett.  - Manages HR Shared Services budget in conjunction with Director-Corporate HR  - Other responsibilities as assigned.  RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS :  - Solid-line reporting to Reports to Director - Corporate Human Resources  - Dotted-line Reporting to Sr. Manager - Compensation Systems and Manager - Benefits Strategy & Analysis  - Frequent contact with Kohler Compensation and Benefit COE- s  - Frequent contact with Managers, Business Leaders, HR Leaders, and Associates.   - Supervises Compensation & Benefits professional and payroll, provides local mentoring and leadership of regional   - Corporate HR Services resource.  EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :  - MBA Strongly Preferred (Specializing in Human Resources)  - Understanding of Compensation & Benefits practices and resources  - Strong background in HR practices in various regions.  - Good knowledge of Kohler Co. Human Resource practices.  OTHER :  - Excellent English language skills.  - Strong computer skills, effective with Excel, PPT for reporting and executive presentations.  - Flexible, adaptable, able to work in remote locations, culturally sensitive and open to the localization of HR processes were necessary for effectiveness.
