The position is based at Pune and the position holder is expected to travel extensively in the region and will report into the Director - Capital Markets (West). The role incumbent will source & execute all Private Equity, Debt and Structured Finance transactions and land related transactions such as Dispositions / JV / JD agreements etc. He will be responsible for the revenue from the Geography across all capital transactions.

- The candidate will be responsible for deal sourcing, execution and closure of transaction across a variety of Real Estate segments - Residential, Commercial, IT Park and SEZs, Retail/shopping centres, hospitality, education, etc.

- The candidate will be responsible for Business Development and Execution - putting together Engagement Letters with the clients, preparation of transaction documents such as Information Memos and Financial models, marketing of transaction to investors, identification of partners for the client and negotiations.

- It will be the responsibility of the candidate to spot transaction opportunities and the market trends.

- The candidate will do extensive networking within the India focused investment community, both global and domestic Institutional capital on one hand and Developers and Corporate on the other. Should have good relations with the local developers.

Responsibilities :

General :

Business Development :

- Responsible to actively sell transaction services and create cross selling opportunities; generate new work from existing clients, keep seniors apprised of opportunities.

- Responsible to generate ideas for transactions and deal structuring and be aware of key issues in negotiations.

- Responsible to develop contacts with key persons in industry.

- Overall responsible for client perception in the geography

Transaction Execution/Client Servicing ;

- Ensure implementation of SOP and compliance with processes at city level in consultation with the Director.

- Prepare Job Engagements

- Provide technical inputs, analysis, conceptualize solutions, transaction documents and presentations to clients

- Identify early deal breakers in the transaction and provide innovative solutions

- Communication with clients and raise new issues with clients.

- Negotiating on behalf of clients and successfully close transaction

- Managing client perception with respect to the transaction.

Billing and Collections :

- Raise invoices and aggressive follow up for Collections.

Business Plan :

- Provide inputs for Capital Markets business plan and future direction of the Capital Markets practice.

- Maximize profitability of the Capital Markets business through effective management of costs and income.

- Analyze transactions completed to identify future efficiency through better staffing and increased delegation.

Business Risk Management :

- Evaluate economic and legal risks to the firm arising out of engagements, consult and adopt suitable risk management practices.

- Monitor risks through regular review and adherence to the risk register.

Human Resources :

- To collaborate with the team members in meeting and exceeding targets, monitor and enhance productivity levels of team members.

- To support the Performance Management process by ensuring Goal setting exercise are completed within timelines and to conduct an annual and mid-term performance management review with team.

- Reviewing risks and demonstrates a quality focus to mitigate attrition.

- To support conducting of all Team Employee Relations procedures with the active support of Team HR

Management Information/Reporting :

- Monthly, Annual and any need based MIS that may be required for any Review.

Professional Development :

- Keep abreast of new developments in profession, business and the regulatory environment and disseminate among the team.

- Build an excellent network with peers and professionals in the field.

- Represent the firm at Seminars/ Conferences.

Professional experience and Competency Profile :

Qualifications/ Education :

- Under Graduate Degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate or Engineering or Chartered Accountant or Post Graduate/MBA (Finance) from a reputed Indian, US or European Institution.

Career Experience :

- 4-6 Years hands on experience in Investment banking, Real Estate transactions, Real Estate Corporate Finance, or Real Estate Investment within the private equity firm.

- Ideally the last 2-3 years should have been on the Investment Banking/Investment Advisory Side with a leading IPC/Big 4 Firm/Boutique Investment Bank with a strong Real Estate practice.

- The candidate should have a good knowledge of transaction structures, Investment themes and regulatory scenario in the Real Estate industry.

- The candidate should have a verifiable and proven record of successfully closing M&A and/or Private Equity transactions in the Real Estate sector in the past.

- A strong relationship with the real estate developer community and Institutional High Net worth (HNI) Investors would be desirable.
