Roles and Responsibilities :

- Academic, Curriculum and Pedagogic Leadership

- Provide leadership by setting up processes for the broad philosophy and direction of the academic function in KLAY.

- Ensure holistic balance and developmental appropriateness at each program level.

- Oversee the planning and organisation of a quality Early Childhood programme in line with the organisational guidelines.

- Guide the academic & centre team in the holistic development and care for the children, and build a safe and conducive environment that best meets their needs.

- Set direction and ensure a balance of academic and co-curricular streams to enable holistic development of children.

- Guide and support develop curriculum content, training materials, training modules, participant materials, and plan implementation strategies, among others, for children, teachers and the entire academic team.

- Guide and support implementation of teaching and learning approaches and resources, as well as best practices to enhance the learning experiences for the children.

- Establish effective teaching- learning practices and student assessment.

- Lead, monitor and evaluate the assessment and feedback mechanism for academics team performance.

- Continually develop and refine SOPs for academics- function.

- To perform any other duties assigned by the leadership team of KLAY.

Team management and leadership :

- Lead a team of curriculum managers, leads, coordinators and teachers to achieve high standards of learning

- Inspire teachers and coordinators to perform at their best.

- Collaborate with the leadership team as well as other stakeholders working towards the overall purpose and vision of KLAY.

- Provide constant coaching and mentoring to teachers by conducting regular learning walks & actively observing teachers in the classrooms and field.

- Plan appropriate professional development, effective orientation & mentoring of the new staff.

- Ensure clear consistent reinforcement of established policies and procedures.

- Strengthen communication across all stakeholders - parents, teachers and children.

- Facilitate proactive and positive engagement with parents and the community.

General Management :

- Plan academic calendar ahead of time and implement clear procedures.

- Manage budgets - proposal, approval, implementation, maintenance, consolidation & reporting. Ensure systems are in place for fiscally responsible procurement of resources

- Ensure that the academic team hires and retains the best talent through effective team management and timely assessments, promotions and movements to keep the team motivated.

- Ensure processes to maintain current and correct inventories of all supplies and equipment.

Qualifications and Skills :

- Experience of 15 to 20 years in Education industry with a minimum of 5 years in ECE domain / Pre-Schools

- Master's degree in any discipline with a B.Ed./M.Ed./MA - Education

- Passionate about teaching the children and learning.

- Inspiring leadership qualities, and should be an excellent communicator

- Experience with designing and implementing innovative curriculum strategies.

- Research oriented mind-set and deep knowledge of contemporary pedagogical approaches
