Title: SVP/EVP Business Development

Team:

Member of the executive management team responsible for all business development and field marketing activities. Reporting directly to the CEO.

Purpose of Job:

The purpose of the role is to provide leadership and strategic direction to the business's overall business expansion program delivering new products/new segments/new locations to increase overall business performance.

Job Components/Responsibilities:

1. Leadership:

- Leads and manages all activities within the business development team, inclusive of field marketing, new location

strategy, product strategy, product design, product development, and rollout.

- Sets departmental KPIs and evaluates the effectiveness of the new products and new locations/segments, making

appropriate changes that encourage achievement of overall sales and business targets without taking on unnecessary

risks.

- Mentor key personnel in the field marketing and product development, ensuring their constant professional growth,

and assisting them in the execution of their duties where necessary

2. Strategy:

- Leads the transformation of product ideas from their most formidable stages into actionable concepts, timelines, and

projects while maintaining a serious consideration of the financial implications, marketing needs, and the overall

objectives of the business.

- Manages a process that drives toward a scalable product portfolio that will, in turn, drive the business's product

profitability.

- Spearheads the identification of target consumer segments and new geographic markets. Evaluates market trends, product industry, and competition strategies from which recommendations can be made on product pricing and

- Reviews, refines, and supports product sales strategies and helps manage portfolio risk in conjunction with the Sales and Credit teams.

- Coordinates the functions of product design, product maintenance, and product improvement, ensuring that the

product resonates with the consumers and, therefore, boosting the product appeal to the consumers and in turn

increasing the consumer base and sales volume.

3. Analytics:

- Conduct business analyses, performance analyses, competitive analyses, loan portfolio analysis etc. to drive implementable insights that can lead to product updates.

- Track and reviews product uptake and performance of loan collections to determine the effectiveness and implement

necessary changes and solutions.

- Forecasting and monitoring of new markets and new segments for efficacy.

- Articulates the results of the analyses in reports, presentations, and recommendations to key stakeholders.

4. Knowledge and Opportunity:

- Maintains a stable knowledge base of the business's industry, competitors, and regulatory activity.

- Conducts regular research, keeps up with trends and best practices, which give the business a competitive edge, and

keep the business at par with some of the biggest players in the market.

- Implements new and well-researched product initiatives, strategies, and solutions.

- Identifies top talent and contributes to the recruitment of key credit department personnel, hence, maintaining efficient and effective execution of duties within the credit department.

5. Relationships:

- Establish relationships with key personnel within the business's market.

- Maintain long term relationships with key consumers, potential consumers, and key strategic partners to evolve

product processes.

6. Collaboration:

- Works closely with other executive officers especially the SVP/EVP/Chief Sales Officer and SVP/EVP/Chief Risk Officer and advises them on product strategies, risk strategies, forecasting, and general management issues in order to align the business's efforts, avoid conflict of interests, and enable the achievement of the business's overall goals and targets.

- Collaborates with the financial department in determining the business development department's budget as well as

appropriate internal budgetary allocations.

- Works with the human resources department in order to determine the criteria for recruiting key personnel in the

business development department in order to guarantee high performance within the department.

7. Other Duties:

- Performs other duties, as he deems necessary for the smooth performance of his duties or duties as delegated by the

Employer.

Qualifications:

- Experience - 15 - 20 years- field marketing and retail financial services product development experience

- Strong analytical skills

- PG - MBA any specialization
