Purpose of the role: Karvy Insights is a newly formed Company of the KARVY group, engaged in the space of qualitative and quantitative market research as well as community development research with expertise across industries and domains like finance, automotive, media, CPG, etc. Information Technology is an integral part and plays a very important role in building its quantitative and qualitative research methodologies. KI needs an IT Head who will be responsible for managing the development and maintenance of information technology solutions for the Company. Supported by a small team from the central IT resource pool, he will provide end to end IT services across infrastructure, hardware and software development in an effective and efficient manner and ensure proactive service and access to technology which can provide a differentiator for KI. Job Responsibilities: 1. Maintains organization's effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic implementation of information technologies. Drive IT need of the business by studying projects, goals, strategies and good practices. 2. Working closely with the operating teams, he will be required to plan, direct, control and evaluate the operations of IT systems and data processing activities of the firm. He will in collaboration with users take decision with respect to buy, develop and implement applications and business IT tools. 3. Meet with operating managers to discuss system requirements, specifications, costs and timelines. 4. Hire and manage application development personnel/contractors to design, develop, test applications and its speedy implementation. 5. Recommend information solutions, policies, and procedures by evaluating and identifying problems; evaluating trends and anticipating requirements. 6. Ensure accessibility of relevant hardware and software and support IT need of all employees Desired Skills a) Be familiar with all hardware and software requirements of the firm and specific to our business in MR and proactively identify needs b) Be familiar with network operating system c) Provide orientation to new users of existing technology d) Train staff about potential uses of existing technology e) Maintain current and accurate inventory of technology hardware, software and resources f) Monitor and maintain connectivity to ensure maximum access, passwords, logs and help desk, Supervise and manage a team of 2-4 support staff and consultants g) Monitor security of all technology h) Verifies application results by conducting system audits of technologies implemented. i) Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures. j) Troubleshoot, application development and vendor management to provide solutions to business issues. Qualification &amp; Experience - BE or MCA with over 10 to 15 yrs of experience out of which 5 yrs should be as an IT head in a services Company The incumbent must have experience in applications development, IT infrastructure, network and installation.Management, Supervisory and Decision making skills with experience in a services firm is desirable.Programming exposure working with general purpose survey analyses software and applications, for data cracking, SPSS reports, wincross, etc, network scanning and other technology solutions will be a critical factor. The position reports to CEO of the Company with a dotted line relationship to the Group IT head.
