We provide a combination of digital media supports, including multimedia teaching aids in the form of text, images, audio-visual mode to facilitate a multisensory approach to knowledge sharing. We also train and support the teachers throughout the academic year, for effective classroom management practices.

Requirements Details:

Designation: Head of Residential School

Location: Yeshwanthpur (Banglore)

Experience: 10+yrs as principal Of a Residential School

Working Days: Monday to Saturday (2nd and 4th Saturday Off)

Working Hours (8:30 hours): 9:30AM - 6:00PM / 10:00AM - 6:30PM

School Management:

- Oversee and develop, in consultation with the Business Head, an appropriate culture of outstanding achievement, support, and recognition for students at the school.

- Generate structures and systems to ensure all students receive the support they need to flourish.

- Oversee the management, administration and disciplinary procedures aligning them as seamlessly as possible between the Boarding Houses and between boarding and the school.

- Monitor pastoral progress closely; devise strategies to ensure that each student's holistic potential is being developed to the fullest possible extent.

- Line manage and liaise with the school Counsellor/s, ensuring wellbeing is a strong focus of the school.

- Manage the processes around student absences, tracking and follow-up; communicate clearly with house staff and parents related to absences.

- Manage and implement policies related to matters such as missing students, bullying, online safety and access, device use and policies, and general school routines.

- Engage with the parent community to grow positive and productive partnerships and involve parents in significant decisions associated with their child's education.

- Contribute to the effective marketing of the school, meeting parents, conducting school tours, and leading promotional events as needed.

- Promoting excellent relations between school and home, through informal and formal processes, ensuring strong and open relationships.

- Actively establish good relations with parents and all other visitors to the school.

- Support and attend all major school events.

- Work to maintain effective partnerships with the community, promoting and representing the school at local, national and international level.

- Working with the Director of Leadership and Service, supporting high-quality co-curricular programmes, including off-campus trips and the logistics of school sports fixtures and tournaments.

- Act as a Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring full safeguarding provisions are in place.

Hostel Management:

- Contribute to the strategic planning of the school in order to effectively and proactively implement the Values and the mission.

- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of boarding; maintaining and enhancing the quality of provision, promoting boarding as a caring, nurturing and supportive environment dedicated to the wellbeing and education of students.

- Work with House staff, ensuring that world-class safeguarding policies and health and safety procedures are implemented effectively.

- Maintain the highest standards for boarding in line with the Boarding Standards.

- Maintain positive relationships within and between the boarding houses, ensuring that students are supported academically, socially, physically, mentally, and emotionally.

- Ensure continuity and consistency of practice and policy across the Orchid Residential schools.

- Be responsible for the management, training and development of residential and non-residential staff, ensuring that all staff have a clear understanding of their responsibilities to provide care for students.

- Ensure robust annual review of residential staff's professional performance.

- Liaise with Operations and Finance, ensuring that boarding house budgets are effectively, efficiently and rigorously managed.

- Ensure that each school contacts and communicates proactively with parents and guardians. Schools are committed to the safety and protection of children. All employees are expected to comply with our School Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy.

- Manage and liaise with schools and academic staff in producing and managing boarding supervision rotas, holiday pick-up/drop-off arrangements, beginning and end of term programmes, new student induction, examination access, and other administrative requirements.

- Produce a detailed boarding report to the Business Head, indicating successes, and areas for improvement and provisions for ensuring financial efficiency.
