Assistant General Manager - Procurement

We are immediately looking for an Assistant General Manager - Procurement.

Job Summary

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) - Cost and Procurement is responsible for overseeing the cost management and procurement functions within the organization. This role involves developing and implementing strategies to optimize costs, manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure overall efficiency in the procurement process. The AGM Cost and Procurement will collaborate with various departments to understand their cost and procurement needs, identify potential suppliers, and implement measures to enhance cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost + Procurement Manager:

- Develop and implement strategies to optimize costs across the organization while maintaining quality standards.

- Analyze cost structures and identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising product or service quality.

- Collaborate with relevant departments to establish and manage cost budgets.

- Develop and implement strategic procurement plans aligned with cost optimization goals.

- Evaluate and select suppliers based on cost-effectiveness, reliability, and performance.

- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms, including pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms.

Supplier Relationship Management:

- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure a stable and efficient supply chain.

- Collaborate with suppliers to identify opportunities for joint cost reduction initiatives.

- Address supplier performance issues and implement corrective actions as needed.

Contract Negotiation:

- Lead contract negotiations with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable terms.

- Ensure that all contracts comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

- Periodically review and update contracts to align with changing business needs

Collaboration:

- Collaborate with various departments, including finance, operations, and production, to understand their cost and procurement requirements.

- Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate cost and procurement strategies into overall business plans.

Cost Analysis and Reporting:

- Conduct regular cost analysis to track and report on cost performance.

- Provide management with insights and recommendations for improving cost efficiency.

- Prepare and present regular reports on cost and procurement activities.

Compliance:

- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies in all cost and procurement activities.

- Implement and maintain ethical sourcing and cost management practices.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.

- Proven experience in cost management and procurement, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.

- Familiarity with cost accounting principles.

- Knowledge of procurement best practices and industry trends.

- Strong leadership and team management skills.

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
