Inspire Institute of Sport (IIS) is India's first privately funded high performance training centre for athletes. Founded by the JSW Group, the facility is spread over 42 acres in Vijayanagar, Bellary district, Karnataka. The institute provides full scholarships to athletes scouted from across the country in athletics, boxing, judo, swimming and wrestling. IIS has been stitched together with state-of-the-art facilities and sports science and has some of the finest coaching minds from across the world to help our athletes chase the Indian Olympic dream.

Organization Chart


Position reports to : CEO - IIS


Purpose of the Role:


The Operations Manager will be responsible for all operational aspects of the IIS Facility.

IIS is a world class training facility and as such all aspects of daily operations need to be maintained in line with world class standards


The Operations Manager will ensure the safe and cost effective operation of the facility. The Operations Manager will also be person in charge of all Health and Safety aspects at the IIS Facility and will and will fulfil the role of the Health and Safety Officer on site


Critical Tasks:


Leadership:


- Provide tactical management for the CEO to ensure that the facility remains operationally functional. This will require robust maintenance schedules to be agreed with suppliers and managed to ensure cost effective maintenance


- In line with the Servicing Schedule, ensure detailed routine and preventative maintenance is followed ensuring that all facilities are maintained


- Develop and maintain equipment assets register for each department and formulate an appropriate equipment replacement programme


Systems and processes


- Develop, implement and review systems and processes that ensure the smooth and efficient operations of IIS


Relationships:


- Manage servicing agreements for the repair and maintenance of facilities used by the in-house caterers in accordance with the catering contract and service level agreement


- Lead the supplier management process, developing key relationships, driving cost reduction and service delivery


Project Management:


- As required, project manage facility improvements or large maintenance contracts to ensure that best value is achieved and effectively monitored


- Through consultation, manage the agreed Capital Expenditure programme ensuring that projects are delivered on time and on budget


Health and Safety :


- Develop the production of operational and safety documentation


- Develop and Co-ordinate Health and Safety management procedures for IIS Facility


- Be the designated Health and Safety Officer and representative for IIS


Financial:


- Budget management in relation to all operational aspect as outlined by the CEO


- Managing the Information Technology & Telecommunications system and relevant servicer provider and associated projects


Other :


- Carry out duties to support the IIS Goals, Vision and Objectives


Educational Background and Work Experience:


Degree who have had Administrative experience of at least 5 Years in managing a Centre/Institute and liaising work and an avid Sports Person will be preferred


Competencies:


- Project management experience.


- Experience in dealing with independent vendors


- Contract management


- Facility management experience


- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills


- Ability to build good rapport with a variety of role players (coaches, parents, schools etc)


- Preferable- experience in managing civil construction projects


- Preferable- experience as a Health and Safety officer.


- Budget development and oversight experience


- Attention to detail and successful organizational skills


- Problem solving skills, dependable, cooperative, multi-tasking, responsible, and patient


- Computer proficiency


- Ability to maintain confidentiality


- Ability to work a flexible schedule-evening work and possible weekend work will be required.


- Having played sport at a high level with international experience (and understanding needs of international caliber athletes) will be favorably considered
