The largest group of operation teams in the GCC provide services to Wholesale Loan Services (WLS) exists within Commercial Banking and provides loan servicing functions to all four JPMorgan lines of business. These functions include loan documentation, closing and funding, payment and fee processing, syndication loan and trade processing, credit administration and collateral perfection and management. The GCC executes many of these functions as part of WLS. Non- WLS functions that the GCC supports includes activities like CBCO, Credit Operations, KYC QC, Business Management, Expense Report Management and Centralized Testing functions. - This role resides within the GCC and is matrixed into the WLS Process, Risk and Control organization. It supports the team's responsibility for ensuring effective implementation of the operational risk framework across the GCC function, as well as providing advisory support on matters related to operational risk management. This position collaborates and partners with the broader WLS management team, the CB Controls Group and other functional support groups (Compliance, Audit, Finance, etc.) to develop and drive operational controls and to ensure that operational risks and issues are appropriately identified, escalated and mitigated. Description: CB Bangalore Risk and Control Risk manager will be responsible for the delivery and oversight of Risk and Control agenda for Bangalore across all sub Lines of Business supported by Wholesale Lending Services. The associate will closely work with the lead to manage and achieve the set objectives. Controls Responsibilities: - Conduct robust risk assessments to identify risks and key internal controls that mitigate identified risks. - Design and evaluation of control assessments in accordance with established corporate guidelines. - Determine effectiveness of controls through end to end process reviews and monitoring. - Conduct ongoing monitoring of key controls. Support business partners to conduct in-depth root cause analysis for issues and assist in the development of remediation plans. - Design and execute targeted testing to determine remediation effectiveness. - Identify, escalate and report risk events. - Work with the appropriate groups to determine control weakness and root cause. Record risk events in the corporate internal tracking system. - Prepare Executive level reporting of key metrics, loss events and issues. - Acting liaison for internal and external audits including compliance related exams. - Retrieve and interpret loan documents and other pertinent source documents as necessary to support testing requirements and audit functions. - Support business operations by partnering with the business to create best practice solutions and drive process and control enhancements, providing expertise in risk/controls and the development of corrective action plans. Qualifications and Competencies - Bachelor's degree/PG with 8-12 plus years experience in Banking Industry with Operations and/or Operations Risk Management. (Knowledge of Commercial Loan product will be an added advantage). - Excellent communication, presentation, analytical and problem solving skills. - Teamwork - Creates and/or contributes to an environment of collaboration and mutual responsibility (e.g. effectively influences others to gain cooperation and address issues; initiates and is responsive to requests from other products, regions, etc.) - Ability to understand and interpret impact of policy and procedural changes, as well as ability to identify and convey potential problem areas - Should be creative and innovative; challenges status quo; generates strategic advice/product/client solutions - Have a track record of formulating innovative ideas and gaining buy-in from senior management in addition to a track record of execution/delivery/process improvement/leadership in a challenging environment - Flexibility i.e. Ability to work independently or manage teams where necessary - Previous control design and testing experience - Expertise in performing robust risk assessments, identifying and designing effective testing of internal controls and performing effective root cause analysis. - Expertise with auditing techniques including appropriate sampling, performance of controls testing and documentation required to meet the reperformance standard. - Ability to formulate and clearly document appropriate conclusions on control effectiveness based on testing performed - Proven aptitude for making recommendations for improving processes and strengthening controls. - Must be able to juggle multiple major initiatives and produce a quality work product. - Specific experience in Risk Management, a plus. - Strong familiarity with commercial banking lending operations, regulations and lending related source documents could be an advantage. - Experience with Excel, Word and PowerPoint Primary Location: Bengaluru Organization: Commercial Banking, Wholesale Lending Services
