As part of the firm's model risk management function, Model Governance Group (MGG) is engaged with all aspects of Model Risk Governance framework:

- Developing and maintaining procedures underlying the framework

- Providing guidance on applicable governance to model users and developers

- Working with model users to ensure that they are aware of the individual models- strengths, limitations, and approved scope of usage

- Evaluating ongoing model performance

Core responsibilities:

The successful candidate will join the team within MGG that is tasked with the analysis of Model Risk Governance Framework so as to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of (and drive improvements too) processes and procedures developed to address regulatory and internal requirements around models used by the firm. Members of the team:

- Lead the effort to evaluate effectiveness of model validation processes and cross-consistency of outputs across a broad set of model types and business areas

- Manage identification of process and execution gaps and drive - gap remediation- efforts with the goal of meeting strategic target state of Model Risk Management framework

- Maintain model review and documentation templates in line with both regulatory guidance and the firm's model development and review standards

- Identify the need for and develop best practice guidelines and training materials related to Model Risk Management control practices

- Develop and administer an approach to computing and identifying trends of risks associated with individual and - line of business level- grouped models in the firm's model inventory

Qualifications:

- Experience with Model validation and/or development is a strong plus

- Strong quantitative & analytical skills founded on a Master's Degree (or higher) in a quantitative discipline such as Math, Science, Economics, Engineering, Quantitative/Math Finance, etc.

- Knowledge of various modeling techniques and breadth of experience across model types, asset classes and business areas (retail, wholesale, capital markets)

- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interface with other functional areas in the bank on model-related issues

- Presentation skills for delivery to senior management committees and forums

- Risk and control mindset: ability to ask incisive questions, converge on critical matters, assess materiality and escalate issues.
