CB Risk & Control is a function within CB Business Operations Executive (BOE) team. The Risk & Control manager maintains a strong and consistent control environment through early operational risk identification and assessment, effective design and evaluation of controls and sustainable solutions to mitigate operational risk. As a member of the APAC BOE team, there is an expectation to support CB international and regional strategic priorities. This position collaborates and partners with the CB International teams, CB Controls Group and other functional support groups (Compliance, Audit, Finance, etc.) to develop and drive operational risk and controls strategy and to ensure that operational risks and issues are appropriately identified, escalated and mitigated. Role Responsibilities: - Create a proactive risk and control culture that leverages proven evaluation strategies and sound change management protocols - Develop, review and analyze program related metrics to support business-related programs and strategies. - Strategic view / identification of upcoming risks impacting CB in the country and region. Raise and ensure timely and accurate completion of the risk register. - Engage in-country bankers who are responsible for CB coverage, strong partnership with regional and local stakeholders including US and global control and BOE partners to ensure that Commercial Banking and control objectives are met and understood. - Chair and coordinate regional control forums - Actively participate and at times lead X-LOB CB working group meetings to determine impact of regulatory change and steps required, and be responsible for a successful business implementation - Liaison point to prepare for branch audits, inspections and internal requests Qualifications & Skills: - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required - 10+ years of financial service experience in controls, audit, operations risk, or compliance preferred - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) - Ability to understand the business / knowledge of regulation surrounding business - Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to influence business leaders in a meaningful and actionable manner - Proactive mindset, inquisitive and able to drill deep and challenge norms - Independent work with strong execution ability
